Nicole D. O’Connor, 27, of Addison Street in Gloucester, MA, was arrested on Feb. 25, 2016, for driving while intoxicated and driving while intoxicate, second offense. An officer on I-93 near the southbound Exit 13 off-ramp, an officer saw a Dodge minivan “weaving and braking” ahead of him at around 8:30 a.m. and as he got closer to the vehicle, he saw the driver was speaking on a cellphone. The driver then reportedly made eye contact with the officer and pulled onto to the southbound side of the Manchester Street Bridge. “The driver then pulled to the sidewalk by driving over the granite curbing with its passenger side wheels and came to a stop blocking a part of the sidewalk,” the officer alleged. The officer spoke to O’Connor, the driver, and she allegedly smelled like alcohol. When asked where she was going she said she allegedly stated she was trying to get to Manchester because it’s next to Laconia and she had a timeshare in Tilton, according to the report. “She then asked me, ‘Am I close?,’” the officer alleged. After a bit of back and forth and both a horizontal gaze Nystagmus and Rhomberg balance test, she was arrested. According to a court affidavit, O’Connor allegedly told the officer that her father would pay $5,000 to leave her on the side of the road. “I told her that was not an option and she again asked, but this time, told me that he would only pay $3,000,” the officer alleged. During processing, according to the officer, her mood allegedly became vulgar and belligerent, reportedly using derogatory words describing female parts of the anatomy. When an officer attempted to remove a concealed item from her yoga pants – a key card, in the small of her back – she allegedly started yelling that she was being sexually assaulted and that the officer and a detective assisting were going to be in trouble. A decision was made not to process her arrest and instead, transport her to the Merrimack County House of Corrections to be arraigned the next day. When they arrived at the jail, she allegedly accused the officer of stealing $1,500 from her. According to a check, O’Connor was convicted of DWI in Massachusetts in June 2006.
