Christopher Cyrus Lyford, 42, of Plymouth was arrested at 2:51 a.m. on Sept. 5 on a driving after revocation or suspension charge. While on Storrs Street, an officer thought he saw an uninspected motor vehicle drive by, turned around, and followed the vehicle, according to an affidavit. After doing so, the driver parked the vehicle, got out, and began to walk away. The officer requested that the driver get back in the vehicle, checked the windshield, and found that the inspection was expired, an affidavit stated. The inspection sticker also did not match the registration date on the license plate, the officer wrote. The driver, Lyford, admitted to having a suspended license and said he was doing a friend a favor, the affidavit stated. A check with dispatch found Lyford had been convicted twice on suspension charges in Hillsborough and Laconia district courts in February 2017 and July 2016 and also had a parole warrant and he was arrested. He was held without bail. It is unknown what the parole warrant was for but Lyford, according to court records, has been previously convicted of felon in possession of a dangerous weapon, delivery of weapon-contraband, conspiracy, criminal liability, and drug possession charges.
