Woman Alleges Ex-Hubby Smashes Plastic Chair: Log

Concord Police: Alleged heroin dealer, with priors, arrested and hungry Dunkin' Donuts clerk allegedly steals register cash.

CONCORD, NH — Magen E. Vien, 31, of Marshall Street in Pittsfield, received a summons at 2:45 p.m. on Jan. 5, 2016, for theft by unauthorized taking or transfer after allegedly failing to pay $58 worth of items at Walmart on Loudon Road. The employee alleged that she and her children were eating food items as they pushed a cart through the store but failed to pay for the items. Vien shopped for about an hour and paid for $103 worth of merchandise. She allegedly didn’t pay for Tommy Hilfiger cologne, eardrops, women’s boots, General Tso chicken, popcorn chicken, and cheese sticks. Vien is in court on Feb. 8.

George H. Forward, 52, of Second NH Turnpike in Hillsboro, was arrested at 2:55 p.m. on Dec. 29, 2015, for criminal mischief. An officer was sent to Fisherville Road for a past tense disturbance. A woman alleged that her estranged husband had picked up some belongings, allegedly threw items around in the yard, and broke a chair. Forward reportedly became angry after meeting his ex-wife’s new boyfriend, according to the report, and allegedly threw a plastic lawn chair and broke it. The officer called Forward and after talking about the alleged incident, he was asked to come in to the station. He was arrested and arraigned the next day.

Lynn A. MacDonald, 58, of South Main Street in Concord, received a summons at 11:55 p.m. on Dec. 26, 2015, for willful concealment after allegedly attempting to steal Natural Ice beer at the Cumberland Farms on North Main Street. She’s due in court on Feb. 1.

Eric D. Lassonde, 23, of Perkins Court in Concord, was arrested at 6:21 p.m. on Dec. 19, 2015, on a warrant for theft by unauthorized taking or transfer, a felony. On Dec. 4, 2015, an officer was sent to Dunkin’ Donuts for a report that an employee had stolen $200 from a register. The officer took a statement from the manager who alleged that he stole the money at 6:44 a.m. on Nov. 23, 2015, after watching surveillance video and allegedly finding his register short. The officer watched the surveillance and it showed that after ringing in a sale, he allegedly pocketed cash. A district manager contacted Lassonde and he allegedly admitted to stealing the money. He was given two weeks to decide one of two options, according to a court affidavit – sign over his paycheck or they would call police. He came into the store on Dec. 4, reportedly admitted to the store manager he stole the money, spent it, but didn’t want to sign over his check. On Dec. 10, Lassonde spoke with the officer about the case and allegedly stated that he was hungry, hadn’t eaten for a couple of days, and thought he could just deduct it from his check. He also reportedly stated it was $20, not $200. Lassonde, according to the report, was convicted of felony burglary in April 2010 in Merrimack Superior Court and was sentenced to 90 days suspended. He was convicted of theft in September 2013 in Concord District Court. A warrant was filed and he was arrested at home.

Getachew N. Silva, 19, of Birchdale Road in Bow, was arrested at 7:25 p.m. on Dec. 13, 2015, for suspended registration and driving after revocation or suspension after a traffic stop for lack of taillights on while driving on Storrs Street. Silva’s license and registrations were suspended on Dec. 9, 2015, for uninsured accident. He’s due in court on Jan. 25.

Nicholas C. Benjamin, 24, of Portsmouth Street in Concord, was arrested at 12:32 a.m. on Dec. 11, 2015, for felon in possession of a dangerous weapon, a felony, three felony counts of receiving stolen property, possession of controlled drugs, and three counts of possession of prescription drugs without a prescription. Officers were sent to the McDonald’s Restaurant parking lot on South Main Street for a report of a man sleeping in his SUV with its engine running. The officer walked up to the vehicle and found the driver holding a rolled up $1 bill in one hand and a lighter in the other. There also was a small bag of marijuana and a grinder allegedly on his lap. The officer also allegedly smelled marijuana coming from the car. When the driver, Benjamin, woke up, he allegedly tried to hide the dollar and denied having marijuana even though the officer alleged seeing it on his lap. Benjamin consented to a search of his vehicle and the officers found two pipes, two grinders, marijuana, three prescription bottles with hydrocod and acetami inside. The officer also allegedly found a knife with white residue and blood on the blade and another hunting knife in its sheath. Benjamin was arrested and held without bail.

Jason C. Cook, 39, a homeless man now located in Concord, was arrested at 4:10 a.m. on Dec. 8, 2015, for driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated-second offense, and driving after revocation or suspension. Two officers approached a parked vehicle and observed a man in the driver’s seat and another man sleeping under a blanket. One approached the driver who then began revving the engine. The driver – Cook – allegedly had an open can of Natty Daddy on the floor. He allegedly smelled like alcohol and had red glossy eyes. He agreed to perform a field sobriety test and was arrested and held without bail. According to the report, Cook’s license was suspended in August 2014 for default child support. He was previously convicted of DWI in Concord District Court in September 2013.

Steven Johnson, 22, of Perkins Street in Concord, was arrested at 5:35 a.m. on Dec. 7, 2015, possession of drugs and possession of controlled drugs. An officer clocked a Buick Regal going 53 mph in a 30 mph zone on Loudon Road. The vehicle was stopped and as the officer approached, he allegedly smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle. Johnson allegedly stated he had a joint earlier but threw it out and would not consent to a search. “I asked him what his concern was if there was no more marijuana in the car,” the officer alleged. “Johnson said that he had, ‘other personal items’ in the car that he did not want me to see. I told him again to hand me whatever he had inside his car. Johnson told me that there was a pipe in the center console.” Johnson allegedly admitted to having a grinder in the car, too, and was arrested.

Joshua E. Smith, 23, of Russel Street in Franklin, was arrested at 1:05 a.m. on Dec. 5, 2015, on a bench warrant and unauthorized use of a propelled vehicle. On July 10, 2015, an officer was sent Concord Gardens for a report of a stolen vehicle. The caller alleged that Smith had driven her to an appointment and after returning home, she took a nap and woke up two hours later to find Smith and the car, which was owned by a relative, was missing. “(She) believed Joshua had taken it without her permission,” according to a court affidavit. She then called him and he allegedly stated he was I-93 southbound near Exit 4 and the car broke down. The officer then called Smith who reportedly told the officer that he had money and was getting it towed back. The relative called police the next day after finding out that the car was impounded in Pelham and he needed $300 to get it back. Both the officer and the woman continued to try and reach Smith and he reportedly never answered the phone or returned the messages. On Dec. 4, at around 11:45 p.m., another officer was sent to Concord Hospital’s emergency room to pick up Smith, who was reportedly being treated for an overdose, on active warrants for the alleged stolen car and for nonappearance in court on a theft charge from July 21, 2015, $500 cash bail. He refused bail and was held at the Merrimack County House of Corrections.

Roman R. Cornelius, 26, of Electric Avenue in Concord, was arrested at 12:11 a.m. on Nov. 22, 2015, for criminal threatening (use of a deadly weapon). Police were sent to the home after Cornelius alleged that a staffer assigned to him stole money to go to the movies. While en route, the staff member called dispatch and alleged that Cornelius “escalated the situation when he picked up a knife and threatened to stab him with it,” according to a court affidavit. “Moments later, (the staffer) reported that Mr. Cornelius had dropped the knife and was sitting outside, waiting for us to arrive,” according to the officer. Cornelius allegedly sated that he thought the staffer was stealing his state aid. Cornelius stated that he went to the movies, with his girlfriend, and was upset to find the staffer also going to the movies and believed he stole “house money” to attend the movie. At the home, he demanded to count the money in a lockbox but denied threatening him with a knife. The staffer stated he used his own money to attend the movie with the couple and denied taking any money. He stated that he believed Cornelius wanted to count the money so he could gain access to it to buy alcohol or marijuana, according to the report, and later, access the money from the lockbox. Cornelius was later arrested.
