Feed A Hero Provides 100 Meals A Day For NoVA Front-Line Workers

As the coronavirus outbreak puts a strain on front-line workers and small businesses, a Northern Virginia business wants to address both at the same time in Northern Virginia. Craftsman Auto launched its Feed a Hero initiative to deliver 100 meals a day to healthcare facilities, fire stations, police stations, homeless families and victims of domestic violence.

Emergency Daycare Offered To Essential Workers During Coronavirus

Guidepost Montessori, a national network of schools that operates several schools in Northern Virginia, is offering a special daycare program to the children of essential workers during the coronavirus crisis. With schools closed across the D.C. area, Guidepost Montessori wants to ensure that essential workers have a safe place to take their children while they are at their jobs.

Paramedic Tests Positive After Transporting Coronavirus Patient

A Loudoun County Fire and Rescue System employee who had transported a coronavirus patient last week has tested positive for the new coronavirus, or COVID-19, the county said Monday.

DC Coronavirus Emergency To Be Extended Into Mid-June

D.C. Council Chairman Phil Mendelson confirmed Monday the City Council would be considering a measure to extend by an additional 45 days the state of emergency declared by Mayor Muriel Bowser on March 17 due to the new coronavirus, also known as COVID-19. The Council will vote on the measure during its legislative meeting on Tuesday.

VA, DC Coronavirus Economic Stimulus Checks: What You Need To Do

In the next three weeks, most Virginia and District of Columbia residents are expected to receive payments that are part of a nearly $2 trillion federal economic stimulus package approved by Congress and signed into law by President Donald Trump. The package is intended to help offset the economic effects of the new coronavirus outbreak as businesses shut down non-essential services and furlough workers to avoid spreading the virus.
