Gun Ban On Falls Church Government Property Approved
On Monday, Falls Church City Council voted 6-0 to implement a gun ban on its property. The ordinance will apply to possession, carrying or transportation of any firearms, ammunition or their components in the city's buildings, facilities, parks and in streets when used for public events. A statement was added to clarify that the gun ban will not apply to a sidewalk along the periphery of a public park.

Flood Warning, Road Closures, Water Rescue In Fairfax County
A flood warning has been issued for Fairfax City and parts of Fairfax County on Thursday as heavy rainfall could prompt flooding. The warning is in effect until 3:30 p.m., and the greater region has a flash flood watch until the evening.

AMC Theatre Reopening Date Announced; DC Locations Excluded
AMC Theatres on Thursday announced more than 100 of its theaters will reopen by Aug. 20, and another 300 theaters will reopen between Aug. 27 and Sept 3 after months of closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As a bonus, the movie theater chain said guests will pay just 15 cents per movie on that day.
