Matthew Shepard's Remains To Be Interred At National Cathedral
Twenty years ago on Friday, gay college student Matthew Shepard was brutally murdered in a hate crime, touching off a nationwide debate about the treatment of homosexuality in America. Later this month, Shepard's remains will be laid to rest at the Washington National Cathedral in D.C., according to a report.

Tropical Storm Michael In VA: Drownings, Crash Leave 5 Dead
Now-post-tropical cyclone Michael continued its destructive path through Virginia Thursday night into early Friday. With it came heavy rain, strong winds, flooding power outages and suspected tornadoes in parts of the state. The storm is also responsible for five deaths. Four victims were swept away in floodwaters on roads and the fifth Virginian killed was a firefighter who died in a crash
