Greenwich 2021 Election Voter Guide: Meet The Candidates

Here's what you need to know concerning the 2021 Greenwich elections including the candidates, polling places, voting hours and more.

GREENWICH, CT — On Tuesday, Nov. 2, Greenwich residents will head to the polls to cast votes for the municipal election. The position of First Selectman, Tax Collector, Town Clerk, Constable, and spots on the Board of Estimate and Taxation, Board of Eduction, Representative Town Meeting, and Board of Assessment Appeals are all up for grabs.

Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Nov. 2. Voters who are in line before 8 p.m. will be able to vote even after the deadline passes. You can find your poll location at the Secretary of the State website by inputting your information.

You can request an absentee ballot here or you can visit your town clerk's office. All voters are eligible to check the top box that lists "COVID-19" as a reason for requesting an absentee ballot.

In Greenwich, Republican First Selectman Fred Camillo is running for a second term against Democratic challenger Bill Kelly.

For Selectman, Republican incumbent Lauren Rabin is going up against Democratic newcomer Janet Stone McGuigan.

The Board of Selectmen is made up of three people; following the First Selectman, the vote getters with the two highest totals will be seated on the Board.


The Tax Collector's race is between Republican incumbent Heather Smeriglio, and Democrat Trevor Crow.


The Town Clerk position is wide open for the first time in about 30 years. Republican Jackie Budkins is running against Democrat Mary "Molly" Saleeby.


Democrats Donnie Romeo and Dawn Fortunato are running for Constable, as are Republicans John J. Thompson, Martin C. Blanco, Charles Eddie Thivierge and Donna Maloney. Residents can vote for up to four.


The Board of Estimate and Taxation (BET) race features Democrats and incumbents Leslie Moriarty, Miriam Kreuzer, Laura Erickson, David Weisbrod, Jeffrey Ramer and newcomer Stephen Selbst. Republican candidates are incumbents Karen Fassuliotis, Bill Drake, Leslie L. Tarkington and newcomers Dan Ozizmir, Michael Basham and Nisha Arora.

Voters can pick up to six. The party with the most cumulative votes receives the important tie-breaking vote on the board.


For the Board of Education, four candidates are to be elected, but no more than two from one party. Residents can vote for up to four.

Democrat incumbent and board vice chair Kathleen Stowe is running along with newcomer Laura Kostin. Republican candidates are Megan Galletta, Michael-Joseph Mercanti-Anthony and Cody Kittle.


Democrats William Grad, Howard Richman and Joseph Huley are running for the Board of Assessment Appeals. Christopher "Kit" Mill, Jeff Reardon and Mark Pruner are the Republican Candidates. Residents can vote for up to three.


There are also a number of Representative Town Meeting (RTM) spots up for grabs in each voting district. Voters in each district can vote for up to 20 candidates.
