Benjamin William Rockwell, 20, of Cherry Street in Concord was arrested at 8:10 p.m. on April 6 on unlawful possession/intoxicated, resisting arrest or detention, and four simple assault charges. Officers were sent to South Main Street near Theatre Street for a report of a fight in progress, according to an affidavit. When they arrived, they spoke with Rockwell who was accused of being "combative toward police officers and others on scene." He was cuffed but while officers attempted to handcuff his 17-year-old girlfriend, Rockwell was accused of charging the officer and headbutting him in the chest, an affidavit said. "Benjamin spit blood at us, kicked me, and made great efforts to kick in the direction of (another) officer," the reporting officer wrote. The girl, according to police, accused Rockwell of tackling her in anger and kicking her with a steel toe boot. He was arrested and held without bail. Lucas Cain Dow, born 1991, of Concord, was cited at 9 p.m. on April 6 on a prohibited sales of alcohol charge.

Editor’s note: When it was first published, the April 6 fight on South Main Street incorrectly stated that the incident occurred at Beijing & Tokyo and that an employee was cited for prohibited sales. The incident occurred outside of the restaurant, during a time period when it was closed, and the person cited was never an employee of the restaurant. Patch has corrected the information and regrets the error.
