Concord Police Log: Texted Death Threat Leads to Charges

Plus, local teen, with long rap sheet, in jail again and a homeless pair were arrested for theft of wine, a chicken potpie, and razors.

April A. Peck, 46, a homeless woman now located in Concord, was arrested at 9 p.m. on June 28, 2015, on a theft by unauthorized taking or transfer charge. Also arrested was Kendrick H. Waddell, 43, also homeless, on the same charge. Officers were sent to the Hannaford Supermarket on Fort Eddy Road for a shoplifting incident concerning two people who were reportedly leaving the store with concealed items. An employee at the store stopped both outside before police arrived. Peck allegedly admitted to stealing razors, sticking them under her shirt, while Waddell allegedly admitted to stealing two bottles of wine and a chicken potpie, that were in his backpack. Both were arrested and are due in court on Aug. 3.

Kevin T. Wheeler, 28, of Loudon Ridge Road in Loudon, was arrested at 1:45 p.m. on June 26, on a felony warrant. Officers were sent to Walmart on Loudon Road after dispatch stated that loss prevention called police and stated “something might become a problem” and hung up the phone. The officers went to the store and were introduced to Wheeler. A check yielded a warrant out of Merrimack County for failure to appear on June 22, 2015, on a habitual offender charge. He was arrested and handed over to the sheriff’s department.

Richard J. Butler, 69, a homeless man now located in Concord, was arrested at 5:43 p.m. June 25, on a warrant from New Hampshire State Police for simple assault, criminal threatening, and false imprisonment. He was arrested after police were sent to The Friendly Kitchen on South Commercial Street for a report that Butler was violating a domestic violence order. He was arrested and is due in Plymouth District Court on July 23.

Michael A. Scardina, 25, of Forest Lane in Boscawen, was arrested at 9 a.m. on June 24, for driving after revocation or suspension, suspended registration, failure to obey inspection requirements, and change of address. An officer saw a Chevrolet Cavalier with a shattered windshield and no inspection sticker on Elmwood Avenue and stopped the vehicle on Hall Street the Bow line. Scardina reportedly told the officer he was trying to get parts for the vehicle to get the inspection done and had already received tickets before for the inspection. The officer ran a check and found that Scardina’s license was suspended the day before for failure to pay a court summons and he was arrested. He’s due in court on July 27.

Thomas M. Geary, 68, of Thorndike Street in Concord, received a summons at 6:45 p.m. on June 19, for possession of alcoholic beverages – public property, for allegedly standing on the corner of Thorndike and South Main streets with an open can of Natty Daddy beer. He’s due in court on July 20.

Jami Longo, 29, of North State Street in Concord, was arrested at 11 a.m. on June 10, for theft by unauthorized taking or transfer at the Cumberland Farms Exxon on North Main Street from Nov. 26, 2014.

Eric J. Riley, 51, of Pine Knoll Drive in Center Harbor, was arrested at 8:40 p.m. on May 21, and charged with violation of a protective order; penalty and criminal threatening from May 18, at Target on D’Amante Drive. An officer took a report from a woman who alleged that her ex, Riley, allegedly “attempted to call her and sent several text messages” while she was at a job interview at the store. The officer looked at the messages and the number. One reportedly read, “If I get arrested I will seriously end ur life. Besides I will be working in Vermont so the cops will not find me,” according to the report. The officer then checked with police in Center Harbor and found that Riley had been served with the restraining order on April 28, 2015. The officer also contacted Laconia District Court and had them fax the return of service paperwork. On May 20, the officer took out a warrant to arrest Riley and he was picked up by Northfield Police the next day and held without bail.

Deborah Sawyer, 19, of Horseshoe Pond Lane in Concord, received a summons at 12:31 p.m. on May 21, for driving after revocation or suspension. An officer was sent to I-393 and Commercial Street for an accident. Sawyer, according to the report, told the officer that her vehicle was rear-ended while stopped at a light. A check yielded an indefinite suspended license from April 30, 2015, and she was issued a summons.

Jonathan May, 28, of South State Street in Concord, was arrested at 4:45 p.m. on May 18, and charged with criminal mischief and possession of controlled drugs. Officers were sent to an apartment on South State Street for a report of a subject trying to kick in an apartment door. When they arrived, they made contact with the complainant, a woman, who reported that she asked her boyfriend, May, to leave the apartment about two hours before. About 15 or 20 minutes after May left, he was allegedly at her doorbell ringing it non-stop. She disconnected the doorbell and then, he allegedly started kicking at the door, swearing, and yelling at her. A friend then called the police for her. Police eyed the door and it had problems opening due to a latch being broken. A witness alleged seeing May ringing the doorbell “like crazy” and later banging on the door. May was arrested and during a search, police allegedly found a “fifth” of marijuana in his pocket. May was held without bail.

Quinten Sanchez, 19, of Columbus Street in Manchester, received a summons at 12:41 a.m. on May 18, for operating without a valid license after a traffic stop on North Main Street for driving with no headlights.

Gary W. Carlson, 76, of Flanders Road in Henniker, was arrested at 2:33 p.m. on May 12, on a driving after revocation or suspension charge after a traffic stop on North State Street outside of the NH AG’s Office. A county attorney investigator reportedly followed Carlson after leaving his office and knew he had a suspended license. Dispatch confirmed it was suspended in March 2012 for a medical reason by the Department of Safety. Carlson was arrested and held without bail.
