Christopher Edward Erickson, 48, of Pine Crest Circle in Concord was arrested at 6:47 p.m. on Sept. 24 on a driving under the influence-third offense charge. According to an affidavit, around 5:31 p.m. officers were sent to Pine Crest Circle for a complaint about a Jeep driving on the lawn of a home. The complainant told police the driver exited the vehicle and "appeared very confused." The driver then got back in the Jeep and drove away — but "nearly hit two teenage girls walking in the area," the report said. Another witness reported that the driver was named Chris and he lived at another home on the circle. The officers arrived at the home of the owner of the Jeep, Erickson, and reported the vehicle had an alcohol interlock device installed, the keys were still in the ignition of the vehicle, and the dashboard was chiming, the affidavit said. After knocking on the door of the home, "Erickson came to the window" and officers spoke with him. Erickson told the officers he had been at the store and was asked about driving on another person's lawn and he said, "he thought he did slightly," the report stated. The officers accused Erickson of showing signs of impairment including slow and slurry speech, eyelids that were droopy, and lethargic movements, the affidavit said. After speaking with witnesses and field sobriety tests, Erickson was arrested and held on a preventative detention order. Previously, according to the report, Erickson was convicted of driving while intoxicated in January 2014 out of Franklin District Court and in March 2015 out of Newport District Court. According to court records, Erickson was convicted on felony drug charges in March 2015 in Belknap County Superior Court after an incident in Tilton.
