CONCORD, NH - Desiree M. Charter, 29, of Manor Road in Concord, was arrested on Feb. 29, 2016, for felony theft by deception and driving after revocation or suspension. The charges stem from alleged incidents at Hannaford on Fort Eddy Road on Dec. 21, 2015. Officers were sent to an apartment on Manchester Street for a possible domestic. Two of the officers reportedly heard a female voice from inside being told by another person to hide. The tenant opened the door and told the officers that they didn’t know where the woman was. The officer later found Charter allegedly “hiding naked in the bedroom closet,” according to a report, and she was arrested on the warrants. Concord Fire was called in because Charter was reportedly having difficulty breathing but was later cleared. She’s due in court on April 11.

At around 11:45 p.m., an officer reportedly saw a vehicle swerving in its lane and crossing over the double yellow line in the area of Canterbury and Whitney Road. Kevin Walker, 34, of Lochmere Circle in Tilton, was arrested on Jan. 23, 2016, for two counts of driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated, and driving while intoxicated-second offense after an accident on South Main Street near Exit 12 S between a sedan and a box truck. The driver – Walker – reportedly told the officer that hit a patch of ice, skidded, and hit a guardrail. The officer, however, “examined the area and did not find any ice, slush, or anything else that would indicate to me a reason why the car would slide,” according to the report. He approached Walker again about not seeing any ice and he allegedly stated that he came up off the ramp and “maybe picked up some ice under my wheel well that cause my tires to slide.” The officer stated that this didn’t seem to make any sense. A state trooper also examined the area and didn’t see any ice or any other reason for the vehicle to slide. The officer noticed that Walker allegedly seemed to be swaying and asked him if he had anything to drink or was on a prescription drug. He agreed to a consent search but nothing was found, according to the report. Walker agreed to a field sobriety test and was then arrested.
