Civil Rights Icon John Lewis To Lie In State At US Capitol

Rep. John Lewis will lie in state Monday and Tuesday at U.S. Capitol Building in order to allow for a public viewing of the civil rights icon who died on July 17.

VA High School Football To Start In February Under Approved Plan

The Virginia High School League voted 34-1 Monday morning during a video conference to adopt the third model for reopening sports and activities for the upcoming school year. The approved model calls for delaying all sports seasons, including football, and creating a condensed schedule, which would tentatively start Dec. 14 for winter sports and end on June 26 with spring sports.

These Are The High-Risk States For DC's Self-Quarantine Order

D.C. Department of Health on Monday released its first list of states deemed to be at high risk for transmitting the new coronavirus. People traveling from these 27 states to D.C. will be required to self-quarantine for 14 days when they arrive.

Virginia's Second Highest Daily Coronavirus Case Count Reported

On Monday, the Virginia Department of Health reported 1,505 new coronavirus cases, the second highest daily number the state has seen since the pandemic begin. There were just two new deaths reported statewide, including two in Fairfax County.

The Washington Nationals kicked off Major League Baseball's 60-game experiment this weekend and the players failed in their first test. Players hugged each other after a home run, were seen spitting while at bat and neglected to practice social distancing in the dugout.
