EAST HARTFORD, CT — To find this week's Hidden Gem, one has to navigate a maze of car dealerships in an industrial section of East Hartford.

There, at 284 Governor St., is the Ranch House a hot dog joint that also happens to serve up breakfast and a whole lot of other traditional American fare.

Rhetorical question here, but who doesn't want to try chili whose recipe has been around since 1951?

The Ranch House is also known for inexpensive specials like the $5.99 seafood clam roll and $4.99 chicken sandwich.
