CONCORD, NH — New Hampshire State Police making commercial motor vehicle stops throughout the state Thursday led to two from North Hampton being arrested on drug and other charges. In Epping, a trooper stopped a 2015 Ford F-250 truck towing a trailer on Route 125. As the trooper approached the vehicle, according to Lt. Andrew Player of Troop G, the driver was moving around in "a suspicious manner" while a woman, who was a passenger in the truck, exited the vehicle and began walking away.

"She initially gave (the trooper) a false name," Player stated.

The woman was eventually identified as Liza Lufkin, 44, and she had three active warrants on willful concealment charges out Franklin and Salem district courts as well as a possession warrant by Merrimack police. While speaking with Lufkin, the trooper accused the driver, Tyler Thompson, 36, of "trying to eat a plastic bag and needle cap."

During the daylong event, troopers inspected 132 commercial vehicles and found 299 violations. Seventy-one were "so severe" they required the vehicles and/or drivers to be placed out of service, according to Player.
