Seth Griffiths Beyer, 25, a homeless man now located in Concord, was arrested at 7:44 a.m. on July 25 on a theft by unauthorized taking-less than $1,000 charge. An officer was sent to Walmart on Loudon Road at around 12:30 p.m. on May 31 for a report of a past tense theft. An asset protection manager accused three people who were previously in the store and involved in the theft of a $399 Night Owl Security Camera Set. According to an affidavit, a white man and a white woman entered the store around 7:15 a.m., wearing hoodies, while a third suspect, a Black man, entered the store later. The three suspects met in the electronics department and while there, the Black man requested to see an item in a locked case. After the store employee gave him the item, he requested to look at another item. When the store employee went to retrieve it, the manager accused the Black man of handing the system to the white man, an affidavit stated. The white man then tucked the item under his arm, left the department, and walked out of the store without paying for the item, the report stated. The officer viewed security camera footage of the incident which backed up the manager's conclusions of the incident and shared images with other police employees. A detective identified the white man as Beyer as well as the woman. A few weeks later, the officer spoke to Beyer at the homeless camp at the Concord Drive-In and he denied stealing the security system. The other suspect, the officer wrote, went by the name of “Shine Dollas,” with Beyer claiming he did not know the man’s real name. A warrant was issued for Beyer’s arrest on July 17. Beyer has an active burglary charge working its way through superior court as well as prior charges.
