Jason Allen Paradis, 46, a homeless man now located in Manchester, was arrested at 1:24 a.m. on May 8 on two warrants connected to three felony possession of controlled drug charges. According to a Manchester police affidavit, an officer stopped a Honda Civic on Beech Street at Lake Avenue around 12:45 a.m. after running its plate and finding that the owner, Paradis, had a suspended license. After the stop, he was accused of telling the officer he knew he had active warrants. According to the affidavit, Paradis was wanted on forgery and theft by deception warrants out of Rockingham County, a violation of probation out of Belknap County, and two warrants on three felony drug possession charges issued by Concord police. The Manchester police officer also accused Paradis of being in possession of a loaded syringe and drug paraphernalia. According to one Concord affidavit, on May 19, 2022, an officer was sent to the Best Western on Hall Street for an attorney general drug task force action. Sergeants were speaking with Paradis, who asked to be allowed to go into his room to gather some items, the report said. Paradis was requested by the officer to allow him to check his belongings before he collected them and was accused of agreeing to do so. At one point, the report said, Paradis handed the officer a pair of pants and inside, the officer found a small baggie with a powdery substance inside, believed to be cocaine. “Once Jason saw the bag of which I pulled from the coin pocket, he advised those are his girlfriend’s jeans,” the report said. After a sergeant reminded Paradis he chose the pants out of an entire pile of clothes, he shook his head in agreement and said the drugs were either “an upper or methamphetamine,” the affidavit said. A warrant was then issued for his arrest on Feb. 13. During a second incident, on Aug. 18, 2022, two different officers were sent to the Best Western to assist Probation and Parole after they accused Paradis of having drugs and paraphernalia. The parole officer stated the drugs were found behind the bed in a hole near the floor and accused Paradis of admitting they were his drugs. The officer described the find as a “rig kit” — two spoons, several cotton swabs, various hypodermic needles, two of which were loaded, and two baggies of drugs, believed to be fentanyl and meth, the report said. On Nov. 28, 2022, the state lab confirmed the drugs were meth and fentanyl. A warrant was issued against him on Dec. 18, 2022.
