Valerie E. Fredette, 57, of North Main Street in Concord was arrested at 10:05 p.m. on Sept. 26 on a resisting arrest or detention charge as well as a warrant. Police were sent to the Best Western on Hall Street for a report of a woman who was yelling at people and “mooning” a group of kids, according to an affidavit. The hotel clerk said the woman’s name was Valerie, and police “eventually confirmed” it was Fredette. A check also found she had a warrant out of Merrimack County Superior Court for nonappearance in court five days before, with no bail allowed. The clerk accused Fredette of ducking into one of the rooms before police arrived. Three officers went to the room, spoke with a man, and asked him to send Fredette out, the report stated. Fredette emerged from a bathroom but denied she was Fredette, the affidavit stated. The officer, however, recognized her from a prior booking photo. She came out into the hallway of the hotel but quickly attempted to head toward another room, the officer said. An officer grabbed her arm, attempting to arrest her, and accused her of tensing up, struggling, and attempting to get free, while using the wall to keep her right arm from being cuffed. An officer removed a Taser and threatened Fredette but later, the officers were able to get her into handcuffs. During processing, an officer reported a knife with her other belongings and she became “angry” when it was confiscated by police, the report said. After being accused of starting an argument about a handkerchief she was wearing and her refusal to take it off, she was taken to the county jail.
