State Police Investigation Into Bear Island Boat Deaths Continues

CONCORD, NH — New Hampshire State Police are still investigating the deaths of two people during a boating accident on Lake Winnipesaukee last month. Harold Lyons and James Hanson, both of Meredith, died during an accident on Nov. 9 after their boats collided near Bear Island. Another boater, Hanson's wife, Carmella, was severely injured.

Earlier this week, the Nashua Police Department Dive Team assisted Marine Patrol in removing the second boat from the lake. Divers used air bags to float the boat up from the bottom of the lake, according to Capt. Tim Dunleavy of Marine Patrol.

Previously, only pieces of the boat were removed from the lake. During this action, the hull and mechanical systems were raised from the bottom of the lake.

Now that investigators have more of the second boat, they hope they can find the cause of the accident.

"It is our hope that retrieving this boat and the evidence related to it will help us provide answers for the Hanson and Lyons families," stated Marine Patrol Sgt. Dave Ouellette, one of the investigators.

Orlando Rojas, 23, of Haverhill, Massachusetts, was arrested at 6:23 a.m. on Nov. 24, 2019, on DUI and reckless operation charges on Route 16 North in Dover.

Eric Burnheimer, 36, of Gorham, Maine, was arrested at 11:34 p.m. on Nov. 23 on DUI-second offense, DUI, and driving after revocation or suspension charges on Interstate 95 in North Hampton.

Shawn Boudreau, lower left, 25, of Rochester, was arrested on Nov. 23 at 2:16 p.m. on Route 101 West near the Exit 10 offramp in Exeter on aggravated DUI-0.16+ and DUI charges.

Yasser Elaziz, 26, of Seabrook, was arrested on DUI and reckless operation charges on I-95 South in Portsmouth at 1:02 a.m. on Nov. 23.

Troop B Blotter

Jonah Sanborn, 25, of Manchester, was arrested on Nov. 28 on a DUI charge on I-293 South near Exit 1 in Manchester.

Benjamin Anderson, 29, of Gardner, MA, was arrested on Nov. 28 on a reckless operation charge on I-93 South just south of Exit 3 in Windham.

Lavell Brown, 32, of Manchester, was arrested on Nov. 28 on DUI and speeding-16 to 20 mph over 65 limit charges as well as an open container on I-93 North in Windham.

Ariel Dupuis, upper right, 28, of Nashua, was arrested on Nov. 27 on operating without a valid license and speeding-21 to 25 mph over 55 limit charges on I-93 North in Windham.

Kevin Staples, 66, of Campton, was arrested on Nov. 26 on DUI and DUI-adult greater than 0.08 charges and a crossing a median violation on I-93 North in Hooksett.

Maureen Conzo, 34, of Waltham, MA, was arrested on a driving after revocation or suspension charge on Nov. 25 on the Everett Turnpike South near Exit 4 in Nashua.

Lawrence Carpenter, 51, of Manchester, was arrested on Nov. 24 on a simple assault charge on South River Road in Bedford. About two hours later, he was arrested again on a simple assault charge.

Thomas Pettiglio, lower middle, 52, of Nashua, was arrested on Nov. 23 on driving after revocation or suspension, suspension of vehicle registration, and speeding-26+ over limit of 55 charges on the Everett Turnpike South in Nashua.

Janice Winnett, 44, of Milford, was arrested on Nov. 23 on suspension of vehicle registration and driving after revocation or suspension charges on the Everett Turnpike North.

Kathryn Sullivan, 35, of Manchester, was arrested on Nov. 23 on a bench warrant and a driving after revocation or suspension-subsequent charge as well as tail lamp and uninspected vehicle violations on the Everett Turnpike North in Merrimack.

Aaron Elias, 23, of Hooksett, was arrested on Nov. 23 on driving after revocation or suspension and speeding-26+ mph over the 55 limit charges on I-93 North in Manchester.

Katrina Lopez, 27, of Manchester, was arrested on Nov. 23 on a DUI charge on I-93 North in Manchester.

Timothy Stanton, 52, of Windham, was arrested on a DUI charge on Nov. 22 on I-93 North in Windham.

Saul Lopez De Leon, 28, of Manchester, was arrested on Nov. 22 on a DUI charge as well as lane control and failure to use required turn signal violations on I-93 South in Windham near the scales.

Alexander Moreno, 26, of Weston, was arrested at 1:05 a.m. on Nov. 28 on a DUI charge on I-93 North in Hooksett.

Shawn Sullivan, 35, of Loudon, was arrested at 11:47 p.m. on Nov. 27 on a bench warrant on Cooper Street in Loudon.

Justin Small, 33, of Concord, was arrested on a driving after revocation or suspension charge at the intersection of South Main and Stewart streets in Concord at 10:55 p.m. on Nov. 27.

Michelle Webster, 35, of Florence, Vermont, was arrested at 1:53 p.m. on Nov. 25 on a driving after revocation or suspension charge and a bench warrant on I-89 South in Lebanon.

Cody Day, 27, of Alton, was arrested at 2:20 a.m. on Nov. 24 on a DUI charge on I-393 East near Exit 2 in Concord.

Todd Sparato, 53, of Concord, was arrested on a violation of probation or parole charge and a bench warrant on I-93 South in Concord at 3 a.m. on Nov. 24.

Caitlyn Dalrymple, 33, of Tilton, was arrested at 12:30 a.m. on Nov. 24 on a possession of methamphetamine charge on I-93 North in Bow.

Hope Cassin, lower left, 28, of Lawrence, MA, was arrested at 8:14 p.m. on Nov. 23 on a driving after revocation or suspension charge on I-93 North near the Bow-Hooksett town line.

William Osterstruck, 46, of Concord, was arrested at 1:30 a.m. on Nov. 23 on a driving after revocation or suspension charge and a bench warrant on I-93 North in Hooksett.
