Former Site of Fairfax High and Paul VI Getting Redeveloped
For the first time in more than 35 years, St. Paul VI Catholic High School will no longer call Fairfax City home this fall after moving to its new Loudoun County location. The site, which also served as Fairfax High School before moving to its current location in 1972, is being redeveloped into a mixed-used community called Boulevard VI.

Summer Restaurant Week Kicks Off Monday Across DC
Starting Monday, residents can take advantage of menu specials at restaurants across the District during D.C.'s Summer Restaurant Week, which runs for two weeks this year. The special event lasts until Aug. 30 and features lunch and brunch menus for $22, and dinner at $35 and $55 price points.
2020 Census To End Count In VA A Month Early, State Response Rate
The U.S. Census Bureau said it will halt counting efforts in Virginia and other states a month earlier than originally planned.
West Falls Church, 5 Silver Line Metro Stations Reopen
Metro's West Falls Church station on the Orange Line and six Silver Line stations reopened on Sunday due to progress on construction projects. The transit authority also added more Metrorail service and expanded weekday hours on Monday.
Positive Average Of Tests Below Peaks For All Virginia Regions
The Virginia Department of Health reported 734 new coronavirus cases and four new deaths on Monday. In all, there have been 107,421 total cases, and 2,385 Virginians with COVID-19 have died. There have been 8,767 coronavirus hospitalizations to date.
Elderly Woman Hit And Killed By MPD Vehicle
Devonne Harris, who often went by Evon, was struck and killed by a Metropolitan Police Department officer while crossing the street late at night on July 24. The officer was "operating a marked police vehicle with lights and sirens activated, while responding to assist another officer," according to an MPD news release. She was hit in the 2800 block of Minnesota Ave. SE at approximately 9:37 p.m. D.C. Fire and EMS responded to the scene and transported her to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.
