New Poll Proves The American People Side With Trump On Deportation — Not The Activists Fighting For Illegals And Criminal Gangs
Find out what's happening in Lakelandfor free with the latest updates from Patch.
This has been a particularly harrowing week for the rule of law, border security, and protecting the American people from criminal foreign invaders, after President Trump’s effort to deport illegal criminals was challenged by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and a federal judge determined to stop him.
Find out what's happening in Lakelandfor free with the latest updates from Patch.
On Friday, March 15th, U.S. District Judge James Boasberg attempted to stop President Trump from sending planes containing enemy aliens and members of foreign gangs back to El Salvador, ordering the planes to be turned around and the criminals on board to be brought back to the United States.
The planes landed in El Salvador days ago, where the illegals on board are being processed, but activist groups are doing everything in their power to stop Trump from continuing to remove illegal criminals. But while the ACLU and judge Boasberg are fighting to stop President Trump from ejecting illegal criminals, the American people consistently support the President’s border security and deportation efforts, proving that these activist groups and rogue judges are at odds with the American people.
A new YouGov survey taken March 6 through March 10 looking at the public response to Trump’s immigration and deportation strategies so far shows broad solidarity among the general public, including swing voters.
Americans support Trump’s approach to border security by nineteen points, 57 percent to 38 percent, with a full 39 percent of the public strongly approving of Trump’s immigration strategy. This includes independents, who support Trump’s border security strategy by eighteen points – 55 percent to 37 percent. Even one-in-five Harris voters support Trump’s immigration approach.
On deportation specifically, Americans support Trump’s deportation efforts by fifteen points, 54 percent to 39 percent. A full 36 percent of Americans strongly support the President’s approach to deporting those in the United States illegally. Independents support deportation by fourteen points, 51 percent to 37 percent.
As for deporting criminals specifically, an AP-NORC poll from January found that an overwhelming majority of Americans support removing violent criminals who are inside the United States illegally.
According to that poll, a full 83 percent of Americans favor deporting violent criminals from the United States back to their home countries, with 65 percent strongly favoring the move. Democrats (79 percent) and independents (77 percent) favor deportation of violent criminals, as do the overwhelming majority of Republicans.
Judge Boasberg’s order was in direct opposition to President Trump’s classification of Venezuelan drug-cartels as enemy aliens, which would allow the president to remove them from the United Stats under the 1798 Alien Enemy Act. This is what President Trump was in the process of doing when the judge ordered him to return the planes to the United States.
Boasberg has also demanded that the Trump administration hand over flight details about the deportation flight times and details, showing a consistent desire to stop President Trump from removing illegal entrants into the United States.
President Trump is likely to take the case to the Supreme Court, considering the ACLU’s justification for stopping the removal of these groups rests on the theory that the modern immigration laws of 1952 and 1965 override a president’s ability to invoke the Alien Enemy Act, a precarious argument.
According to anonymous sources, Axios reports that Trump’s team is gearing up to take the case to the Supreme Court, and hopes the Court will side with the administration and allow the administration to continue deporting illegals under the Alien Enemies Act — and he’s betting he will continue to have the support of the American people.
For now, while activist groups such as the ACLU are chasing an ideological dream where illegal criminals are welcomed into the United States with open arms, the vast majority of Americans support President Trump’s efforts to remove illegal criminals from the country and restore the rule of law.

3) Crime, illegal immigration, and the border are among the issues that caused millions to vote for President Donald J. Trump (R) and his Vice President J.D. Vance (R) over Joe Biden (D) replacement Kamala Harris (D) and her running mate, Governor Tim Walz (MN-D).

https://patch.com/florida/lake...

https://patch.com/florida/lake...
V.P. J.D. Vance (R) recently reminded city leaders that illegal immigrants are 'squeezing' U.S. citizens and legal immigrants in the housing market, which drives up housing costs. While that one step won't solve the U.S. affordable housing crisis, if successful, the law of supply and demand will mean that housing costs for renters and housing buyers should decline.
4) This "Reality Check" series contributor for this Patch and writer for MHProNews would be remiss for failing to connect the dots to the ripple consequences of a big issue like illegal immigration to other factors that include housing that is so unaffordable that many have been pushed out of housing to living on the streets. As a disclosure, I'm the son of legal immigrants. My wife came legally to America. Like most Americans, I'm not against immigration done properly - it can be enriching for our society so long as it is done correctly. But allowing people to come across the U.S. border with proper vetting, as was occurring for decades in the 21st century under Presidents Bush and Obama, and during the Biden-Harris years, was always poor policy from the point of view of most taxpayers and the vast majority of Americans.
5) When it comes to UNaffordable housing, the consequences routinely come down to this. If people can't afford to live in an apartment, condo, or single family house, then they will have little choice but to live on the streets, in a shelter, or car. All of those have risks, costs, and consequences. The only thing that will keep housing costs reasonable and truly affordable is a combination of proper enforcement of immigration laws and creating more affordable housing. A range of data, including from the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), reveals that you can't solve the affordable housing crisis without more manufactured and modular homes. Of those two kinds of factory-home building, manufactured homes are routinely lower in cost.

6) City leaders have been led to believe that having manufactured homes next door to conventional single family housing drives down housing values. But a recent research report conducted for Lakeland in Polk County, Florida, clearly demonstrated that such a notion is false.

https://patch.com/florida/lake...

https://patch.com/florida/lake...
7) The report above is adapted from the more detailed one linked below. These facts have been checked by a variety of artificial intelligence (AI) systems plus human expertise, combined with years of prior research data. Even a stopped watch or clock is right twice a day. Understandably controversial and 'notorious' Frank Rolfe's claims on this topic were carefully unpacked. The silence of Rolfe and the Manufactured Housing Institute's apparent failure to address this properly are also examined.

8) One of the most proven ways for creating household wealth is home ownership.
Let's be clear what that means.
If you buy a house, you have to be able to maintain it.
Any housing, conventional or manufactured, has to be kept up.
For instance. Leaks of any kind that develop have to be swiftly addressed or damage is likely to result. A damaged house of any kind is obviously not worth as much as one that is in good repair.
With some common sense caveats like 'keep your property outside looking nice and clean' and keep your house in good repair, owning a mobile home, a manufactured home, or conventional housing are all ways of building family wealth. Who said?
Years of federal data as presented by prior HUD Secretary Ben Carson. Notice what then Sec. Carson said, using Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) data. Rental households at that time had an average net worth of $5,000 compared to home owner households that had an average net worth 40 times higher, or $200,000. While those figures need to be adjusted for runaway inflation under Biden-Harris (D) since then, the principle is the same.

https://www.manufacturedhomeli...

https://www.manufacturedhomeli...
9) During the Obama-Biden (D) years, HUD commissioned research on the impact of manufactured homes right next door to conventional housing in various urban areas around the country. The result? Both forms of housing routinely went up in value. The link to that research is found in the more recent LendingTree report shown below which said that in several states, manufactured homes are appreciating at a faster rate than conventional housing. That's a BMW parked in front of that manufactured home in that photo.

https://www.manufacturedhomeli...
10) It remains to be seen what Trump 2.0 administration HUD Secretary Scott Turner will do about manufactured homes and enforcing federal law that bars cities and town from discriminating against manufactured home placement. But the word heard in Washington, D.C. is that the issue has been addressed by the Manufactured Housing Association for Regulatory Reform (MHARR) on several occasions already. More is said to be on tap. Stay tuned for developments.

https://manufacturedhousingass...
11) Trump has promised a "Golden Age" for working class, middle class, and retirees in America. There are many steps necessary to get there. But one of the most proven steps is to allow people the freedom of choice of their housing. If you want a conventional house or condo, and can afford to buy it, you should be allowed to buy it. If you want to buy a manufactured home and can afford to buy it, you should be allowed to buy it. Federal "enhanced preemption" is supposed to make that possible.

12) In a letter to the City of Richland, MS, Acting Deputy Administrator for the Office of Manufactured Housing Programs (OMHP) Henry S. Czauski, an attorney, said this. “In summary, a locality may not regulate or excluded structures that meet the Federal definition of a manufactured home…” Czauski cited the “Manufactured Housing Improvement Act” which stated: “Federal preemption” under this statute “shall be broadly and liberally construed to ensure State or local standards do not” block the ‘comprehensive’ use of “manufactured housing.” That letter is linked here.
Numbers of other quotes on “enhanced preemption” are linked here.
But like our years of leaky borders due to lack of enforcement of border laws, the occasional enforcement by HUD of federal preemption has hurt this nation’s working class, retires, and affordable housing seekers by the millions. Because conventional builders can't keep up with demand, nor can site builders meet the same price point, only more manufactured homes will solve the affordable housing crisis.
HUD Secretary Turner holds the key to unlocking that federal law on a routine basis.
13) There is an evidence-based case to be made that while some leaders involved in MHI have for years payed lip service to getting “enhanced preemption” enforced, they are sadly as opposed (in practice) to getting it enforced, so that they can keep their "parks" site fees (a.k.a.: 'lot rents') going ever higher. That's apparently why Frank Rolfe and numbers of “consolidators” at MHI won't use the legal system to get this federal law routinely enforced.
14) But that doesn't mean that local officials can't enforce the law voluntarily.
15) That also doesn't mean that some legal nonprofit, like the Institute for Justice or the Pacific Legal Foundation, couldn’t sue on behalf of those who are being denied their right to their part of the American Dream of home ownership.
HUD Secretary Turner said he would 'enforce the law.' Let's see what happens next, shall we?
