4 Arrested During 2 NHSP Sobriety Checkpoints
State troopers checked hundreds of vehicles in Bow and Gilford last night and this morning.

CONCORD, NH — The New Hampshire State Police held another round of superior court approved sobriety checkpoints this weekend eyeing hundreds of vehicles and arresting four, according to press statements. Troop D troopers held a checkpoint on Route 3A in Bow last night and this morning with the assistance of members of New Hampshire Liquor Enforcement. During the checkpoint, they screened 192 vehicles and arrested on person for driving after suspension and suspended registrations.

At the same time, in Gilford, troopers from Troop E held a checkpoint on Route 11. During that checkpoint, three people were arrested for driving while intoxicated, issued citations to five people for marijuana possession and two others for open container violations.

The New Hampshire State Police say they are committed to “taking an aggressive stance in utilizing safety and sobriety checkpoints as a tool to deter, detect, and apprehend persons driving while intoxicated,” according to press statements. “New Hampshire has some of the most aggressive laws in the country to fight the intoxicated driver and we are dedicated to using those tools to their full extent to make sure our citizens and visitors are safe when operating their vehicles on our roadways.”
