Hit-And-Run Suspect Sought After Interstate 93 Crash: New Hampshire State Police Roundup

Accused wrong-way drunken driver arrested; man faces sexual assault and second-degree assault charges; blotters around the Granite State.

CONCORD, NH — New Hampshire State Police seek information about a silver four-door sedan that struck a pedestrian in the area of Exit 13 on Interstate 93 in Concord on Friday night.

Just before midnight, troopers and firefighters were sent to a report of a two-vehicle crash on the northbound side of Interstate. Initially, the report was the collision took place at Exit 14. Later, the crash between a Jeep and a car was confirmed on the northbound side just south of Exit 13. The Jeep driver pulled over and exited their vehicle when the other car struck them in the high-speed lane. The driver fled the scene before troopers arrived.

Concord fire and rescue teams took the driver, a woman with a Status 2 alert, to Concord Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A BOLO (be-on-the-lookout) call was issued for the car with “significant front-end damage,” according to scanner chatter.

Another trooper reported the vehicle was not seen near Exit 17, and they presumed the car exited the highway before Penacook.

The highway was closed for around 15 minutes during the investigation.

Raymond Carpe Jr., 23, of Bethlehem, was arrested on a warrant for felony aggravated sexual assault and three counts of second-degree assault. Bethlehem police assisted with the case, according to a report. Carpe was held in the Grafton County Jail and was scheduled to be arraigned on Feb. 20.

4 Injured In Wrong-Way Driver Collision

Four people were injured during a crash on Interstate 93 on Feb. 17.

Troopers were sent to Plymouth for a report of a crash around 8:15 p.m. on the northbound side of the highway.

“The preliminary investigation revealed that a driver of a 2020 Subaru Outback, later identified by the Troopers as Jason Buttrick, 33, of Ashland, was traveling the wrong way on the offramp and collided head-on with another vehicle, which had three occupants,” Tyler Dumont, a public information officer for state police, said. “Buttrick fled the scene on foot before Troopers arrived, but Troopers were able to locate him and took him into custody. Buttrick, as well as the three occupants of the other vehicle, were transported to an area hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.”

Buttrick was arrested on felony reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, DUI, DUI-second offense, operating after suspension, and conduct after an accident charges. He was also cited for reckless operation. Buttrick was released on bail and was due to be arraigned on Feb. 20.

Assisting troopers were Plymouth police, and Campton-Thornton and Plymouth fire and rescue teams.

Steve M. Loan, 60, of Boscawen, was arrested at 3:14 p.m. on Feb. 3 on a disobeying an officer charge as well as obedience to police officer and failure to display plates violations in Hooksett.

Roland Everett Boucher, 44, of Manchester, was arrested at 9:48 a.m. on Jan. 30 on reckless operation, disobeying an officer, and breach of bail charges in Windham.

Karl Bausha, 59, of Nashua, was arrested on a bench warrant at 5 p.m. on Jan. 28 in Nashua.

Mary J. Houghton, 50, of Peabody, MA, was arrested at 12:10 p.m. on Jan. 28 on aggravated DUI-attempt to elude, DUI, reckless conduct, and disobeying an officer charges as well as lane control and open container-second or subsequent violations. She was arrested in Thornton.
