Newport Sex Offender Indicted On More Child Rape Charges: Superior Court Roundup

CONCORD, NH — The following people were indicted recently in Merrimack County Superior Court.

Clyde Earl Shatney, 61, a homeless man now located in Franklin, on a felony penalty; registration of criminal offenders charge. He was accused of failing to register with police that he was now located in Franklin between Oct. 5 and Oct. 27, 2022. Shatney is a sex offender due to a January 2014 felonious sexual assault conviction.

Daniel A. Stevens, 43, of Kenyon Street in Claremont on a felony motor vehicles; penalties charge. He was accused of driving on Route 103 in Newbury on Oct. 14, 2022. Stevens was deemed a habitual offender in January 2013 by the NH DMV.

Sylvia S. Stokes, 82, of West River Road in Hooksett on a felony motor vehicles; penalties charge. She was accused of driving in Bow on Nov. 23, 2022, after being deemed a habitual offender by the NH DMV.

Haley L. Tasker, 30, of Franklin, incarcerated in the Merrimack County Jail at the time of the indictment, on a felony second-degree assault charge. She was accused of strangling a man in Franklin on Nov. 22, 2022.

Thomas Thibeault, 36, of Springfield Road in Newport on six felony aggravated felonious sexual assault charges. He was accused of engaging in a pattern of sexual assault by raping and sexually assaulting a girl in Salisbury between June 1, 2019, and May 30, 2020. Thibeault is a sex offender due to a felonious sexual assault against a victim under 16 but older than 13 conviction from April 2009 in Sullivan County. Jerry J. Turner, 35, of Route 106 in Loudon on a felony receiving stolen property charge. He was accused of stealing tools valued at more than $1,500 from Triumph Heating & Cooling in Bow on Oct. 24, 2022.

Charles Whitman, 19, of Chicken Valley Road in Locust Valley, New York, on a felony possession of psilocybin mushrooms charge in Sutton on Oct. 14, 2022.

John Woods, 76, of Hopkinton on aggravated felonious sexual assault and felonious sexual assault charges, both felonies. He was accused of sexually assaulting a woman with a sex toy, causing injury while she was intoxicated on March 4, 2022.

Rodney Young, 58, of Bay Hill Road in Northfield on a felony operating while deemed a habitual offender charge. He was accused of driving a motorcycle on Thunder Road in Franklin on Oct. 31, 2022, after being deemed a habitual offender by the NH DMV.

Zachary Albert, 41, of Concord on a felony felon in possession charge, a machete, in Bow on Jan. 8. He is a felon due to a drug conviction in Hillsborough County Superior Court North in September 2016.
