Pair Medflighted To Hospital After Drunken Driving Crash: NHSP Roundup

Plus: Man from Maine injured in pickup truck crash, fire; blotters from around the state; Mass. man accused of driving 108 mph.

CONCORD, NH — Two people were medflighted after a drunken driving crash in Gilsum on Friday, according to New Hampshire State Police.

Around 6:15 p.m., troopers were sent to Route 10 for a report of a crash involving a van and a crossover vehicle. During an investigation, state police determined a 2023 Ford transit van was traveling north and a 2021 Kia Seltos was traveling south when they collided.

David Bosma, 81, who was driving the Kia, and a passenger, Kathleen Bosma, were medflighted to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center with serious injuries.

Alexander Bazarnicki, 29, who was behind the wheel of the van, was arrested on a driving while intoxicated charge. He was released on bail and is due in Keene District Court at a future date.

The state police Collision Analysis and Construction Unit was requested to investigate. Assisting state police were Keene and Gilsum firefighters, the Cheshire County Sheriff’s Office, and J&J Truck Service and Towing.

Bedford Man Clocked Driving 108 mph Troopers Say

A man from Bedford, Massachusetts, is facing several charges after being accused of driving more than 100 mph on Interstate 93 in Londonderry.

Around 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, a trooper attempted to stop a driver in a 2020 Chevrolet Trax on the northbound side of the highway after being clocked at speeds of as high as 108 mph. The driver, Tyler Dumont, a public information officer for the New Hampshire State Police, said, refused a stop. The trooper pursued the vehicle into Manchester and onto I-293 while other troopers deployed stop sticks just north of Exit 7.

“The stop sticks successfully deflated two tires and the vehicle stopped at Mile Marker 9.2 on the northbound side of I-293 in Manchester,” Dumont said.

The driver was identified as Jonathen Petrie, 32, of Bedford, MA, and he was arrested and charged with reckless conduct, disobeying an officer, and resisting arrest or detention charges as well as motor vehicle violations. He is due in Manchester District Court at a later date.

Driver Seriously Injured After Crash At Hampton Tolls

A man from Maine was seriously injured after a crash in Hampton.

Around 4:15 p.m. on Saturday, troopers were sent to the Hampton toll plaza for a report of a pickup truck crash. When they arrived, they found a 2021 Ford F-150 pickup truck in flames. The driver had serious but non-life-threatening injuries. A passenger, who was under 18, was not hurt, according to a report.

Hampton fire and rescue teams arrived and extinguished the fire.

State police investigated the crash and determined Patrick Jones, 43, of South Portland, ME, “suddenly changed lanes” on the northbound side of the highway, just before the toll plaza. The truck then hit a concrete abutment and went airborne. After crashing, it caught on fire.

Multiple lanes were closed while the fire was put out and troopers investigated the crash. Along with firefighters, Hampton police assisted.

Grace Patterson, 41, of Bedford was arrested at 6:02 p.m. on March 5 on a driving under the influence charge and a yellow-solid line violation in Epping.

Paige Elizabeth Kowalik, 29, of Methuen, Massachusetts, was arrested at 11:38 p.m. on March 9 on aggravated driving under the influence-0.16-plus, DUI, and reckless operation charges as well as a front lights violation in Londonderry.

Thiago Alves Salvador, 21, of Malden, MA, was arrested on a driving after revocation or suspension charge in Salem at 7:21 p.m. on March 8. Also charged was Mia Rose Christofaro, 19, of Manchester on driving after revocation or suspension and driver’s license prohibitions charges.

Jeff Kervin Taylor, 29, of Manchester was arrested at 3:03 p.m. on March 8 on driving after revocation or suspension and driving after revocation or suspension-subsequent charges and an uninspected vehicle violation in Bedford.

Cory A. Bergeron, 23, of Nashua was arrested at 6:52 a.m. on March 8 on driving after revocation or suspension and driving after revocation or suspension-subsequent charges and an uninspected vehicle violation in Bedford.

Joseph Mande Melanson, 67, of New Ipswich was arrested at 2:32 a.m. on March 8 on second-degree assault-domestic violence-strangulation and two domestic violence-simple assault charges after an incident in New Ipswich.

James Michael Yorke, 37, of Derry was arrested at 4:03 p.m. on March 7 on an operating without a valid license charge as well as unregistered vehicle and uninspected vehicle violations in Nashua.

Alphonso Walker, 26, of Manchester was arrested at 11:58 p.m. on March 5 on a driving after revocation or suspension charge as well as bench warrant and a misuse of plates violation in Nashua.

Sergio Lucas De Farias Pereira, 30, of Milford was arrested at 5:35 p.m. on March 6 on driving after revocation or suspension and operating without a valid license charges in Concord.

Lazaro Adonis Laserna, 36, of Manchester was arrested at 9:27 a.m. on March 6 on driving after revocation or suspension, driving without giving proof, and motor vehicle not equipped with alcohol interlock device and a “hands-free” violation in Bow.

David Matthew Levesque, 21, of Londonderry was arrested on a driving under the influence charge in Concord at 12:49 a.m. on March 6. He was also cited for driving on a divided way; crossing a median.

Phillip J. Moore, 42, of Exeter was arrested at 11:57 p.m. on March 5 on a driving under the influence charge and a “hands-free” violation in Concord.

Timothy Esty, 64, of Danbury was arrested at 8:51 p.m. on March 4 on aggravated driving under the influence-0.16-plus, DUI, DUI-second offense, DUI-adult more than 0.08, minor more than 0.02, and DUI-second offense-adult more than 0.08, minor more than 0.02 charges. He was arrested in Danbury.

Trevor F. Frizzell, 24, of Stratford was arrested on burglary, simple assault, and criminal threatening charges at 8 p.m. on March 14 after an incident in Stratford.

Ryan S. McLaughlin, 31, of Fitzwilliam was arrested at 12:14 a.m. on March 13 on criminal threatening-deadly weapon, obstruct government administration, simple assault, and resisting arrest or detention charges in Fitzwilliam.

Andrea E. Sweeney, 64, of Bristol was arrested at 9:21 p.m. on March 10 on aggravated driving under the influence-0.16-plus and DUI charges in Rumney.

Pauline Marie Dow, 77, of Tuftonboro was arrested at 9 a.m. on March 6 on a tampering with public records charge in Tuftonboro.

Manuel Roberto Rea, 32, of Winooski, Vermont, was arrested at 12:15 a.m. on March 4 on aggravated driving under the influence-30-plus mph, aggravated driving under the influence-passenger under 16, speeding-26-plus mph over the 55 limit, driving after revocation or suspension and endangering the welfare of a child charges as well an open container violation in Swanzey.
