Timberlane Wins NH JV Tourney; Salem 4th, Milford 5th, Nashua North 8th, Bedford 10th: Wrestling Roundup
Roundup: Merrimack was 11th, Exeter 12th, Londonderry 13th, Souhegan 14th, Winnacunnet 16th; Nashua South and Windham were tied for 20th.
PLAISTOW, NH — Timberlane Regional High School continues its winning ways, taking the 2026 New Hampshire JV state championship at the school on Saturday.
Twenty-four schools participated in the tournament this year, with hundreds of wrestlers battling in more than 450 bouts.
Timberlane racked up 181 points, taking nine first-place wins, to take the win over Concord’s Crimson Tide, who placed second with 153 points. Concord had five first-place finishes and four second-place finishes. Keene came in third with 85, Salem came in fourth with 83, and Milford was fifth with 78. Pinkerton came in sixth, Bow came in seventh, Nashua North came in eighth, Winnisquam came in ninth, and Bedford came in 10th.

Merrimack was 11th, Exeter 12th, Londonderry 13th, Souhegan 14th, Winnacunnet 16th, and Nashua South and Windham were tied for 20th.
Salem won in 2025, snapping the Concord team’s five-year winning streak.

Milford Beats Salem, Salem Beats Central, Memorial
Salem hosted a quad with wrestlers from Milford, Manchester, and Trinity, and came up with two wins.
The Blue Devils beat Central, 78-0. Wrestling participating in winning bouts included John Blocksidge in the 113, Trevor O’Brien in the 138, Ganel Gotay in the 144, Carter Lemire in the 150, Micah Howard in the 157, and Jack McElroy in the 215, all by pins.
Salem also beat Memorial, 60-23. Winning wrestlers included Ella Paris of Salem by fall in the 106, Blocksidge by fall in the 113, Kallie Chandler of Salem in the 120, Maddox Boudreau in the 126 by fall, and O’Brien by fall. Nasr Abbari of Memorial won by tech fall in the 144, 22-7. Lemire in the 150 won by pin, John Vargas of Salem in the 165 won by fall, Yazen Al Janabi in the 215 for Memorial also wins by pin.
Salem won three bouts by forfeit while Manchester won two.
The Spartans also beat the Blue Devils, 47-30.
Paris of Salem won by fall in the 106, while Colton Schuster of Milford won by fall in the 113. Kiernan Lordan of Milford in the 120 won a 9-8 decision. Max Hammerstrom of Milford won by tech fall in the 126. Calix Lajoie of Milford won in the 144 by pin while Lemire of Salem also won by pin in the 150. Phillip Wright of Milford in the 157 won by tech fall, 17-0. In the 175, Jack Clancy of Milford won by major decision, 16-5. In the 190, Zandar Wood won by fall for Salem. And in the 215, Brandon Leeman of Milford won by pin.
Each team also had two forfeits.
Portsmouth Beats Pelham, Windham Beats Portsmouth
The Clippers and Cougars competed against each other and others at the Cavalier Classic event at Hollis Brookline.
Portsmouth beat Pelham, 42-17. Notching wins for the Clippers were AJ Craig in the 144 by tech fall, 19-4 and Vinnie Cress in the 120 by pin. There were four double forfeits. Pelham won three bouts by forfeit, while Portsmouth won one.
Windham also beat Portsmouth, 42-26.
Henry Palmer of Windham in the 144 won by pin, as did Rocco Ponzini in the 150. Emmanuel Poupon won 8-4 in the 157. Stephen Whisler won by pin in the 165. Kallen Lirofonis in the 106 also won by pin.
Windham won four bouts by forfeit, while Portsmouth won two. There were also two double forfeits.
