Warren Louis Doucette, 41, a homeless man now located in Concord was arrested at 7:30 p.m. on March 19 on felony receiving stolen property, $1,501+, criminal trespass, and breach of bail charges. On Feb. 21, an officer was sent to a business on Sheep Davis Road for a report of a stolen catalytic converter. The officer eyed a van and saw the cut marks on the muffler. After taking the report, an officer spoke with another officer who fingered Doucette as a possible suspect since his homeless camp was nearby at the Karner Blue Butterfly Easement on Chenell Drive. The officer went to visit the camp and found a heat shield from a catalytic converter on the ground outside of Doucette’s tent, according to an affidavit. The officer spoke to Doucette who agreed to let the officer search his tent and denied stealing the converter, the report said. The officer reported seeing several tools — “many types commonly used for other catalytic converter theft (handheld bandsaw, saw blade, etc.).” Doucette was not allowed to be camping on private property and he and his wife were given 24 hours to leave. The next day, Doucette was gone. The affidavit said the officer found an unlocked chest with a converter and the same heat shield inside a few feet from his tent. A backpack blower and an electric welder, which appeared to be stolen, were also seized, the report said. The officer later was able to match the serial number of the converter as one that was a part with the make and model of the van, an affidavit said. After meeting with a South Main Street parts center, the officer was found out the part was actually a diesel particulate filter. Later, the officer was able to match up the cut lines to the van. “The parts lined up without issue,” the officer wrote. The part was valued at $2,589.63. A warrant was then issued for his arrest.

Adam L. Thompson, 44, of Concord was cited at 7 p.m. on March 19 on a bench warrant after an incident on Rockingham Street.
