William James Edmondson, 62, a homeless man now located in Concord, was arrested at 10:25 a.m. on July 3 on a felony sex offender registration; failure to comply-knowingly-subsequent charge. On June 15, a detective was auditing sex offender registrations and found that Edmondson’s had expired, an affidavit stated. He was required to register four times a year after being convicted of aggravated felonious sexual assault in Merrimack County Superior Court in December 1998. The report said his last registration was May 5 for a change of information and had not filed the quarterly report within five days of his birthdate later that month. The detective called Edmondson and asked about why he was late registering, the report said. He replied he was “off schedule,” due to being out of sync, according to the report. The detective said they did not know what he meant by the statement, and he countered, “Well, I guess I missed one,” the report said. Edmondson, the detective wrote, had been convicted of duty to report in April 2022 in Hillsborough North and June 2019 in Merrimack County. A warrant was issued for his arrest on June 20.
