Dylan Harrington Peterson, 28, a homeless man now located in Concord, was arrested at 8:36 p.m. on April 7 on criminal trespass, resisting arrest or detention, and loitering or prowling charges after an incident under the I-393 bridge. At 9:09 p.m. on April 7, he was charged again with felony burglary. In the burglary case, police were sent to Alice Drive around 9:45 a.m. on May 30, 2020, for a complainant who reported a man jumping a fence and entering his home via a bulkhead. The suspect was accused of stealing tools and biking shoes before taking off toward an apartment complex in the area. About an hour before, the officer learned later, there was another incident on Fisherville Road — a tall man reportedly hiding in the bushes behind an apartment building. A sergeant was off with the suspect, Peterson, who was arrested on an unrelated charge, an affidavit said. A third officer processed the Alice Drive scene and found fresh fingerprints on a window. The window was seized and processed for print recovery with the state police lab. During processing for the unrelated arrest, the officer attempted to speak to Peterson about the burglary but he “refused to speak about the incident,” an affidavit said. Peterson was also fingered by police for another burglary incident two days before in the same area of the city, the report said. The reporting officer spoke to the Alice Drive resident, got a description of the suspect, and then searched for area surveillance footage to match the description to Peterson, from stores in the area, the report said. Still images from area stores, including timestamps, linked the man, “recognized to be Peterson,” to the same timeframe of the man fleeing the burglary, the affidavit said. On March 14, state police linked the fingerprints on the windows to ones on file for Peterson, according to the report, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
