Tyler James Towne, 43, of Route 3 in Lincoln was arrested at 10:20 a.m. on May 11 on a felony drug possession charge. Around 12:30 a.m. on Jan. 3, an officer in the area of Cumberland Farms on North Main Street saw a Kia Sportage at a gas pump that was stationary, so they ran the registration. The owner, Towne, had an active warrant on a willful concealment charge, so backup was requested. The officers spoke to Towne and Nicholas Stiles, who “initially (the passenger) did not provide me with his name, but was eventually arrested on a variety of warrants,” the report said. Dispatch confirmed the warrant for Towne, issued by Ashland police, and he, too, was arrested. During a pat down, an officer accused Towne of possessing a scale with a cover, and underneath the cover was a white powder, an affidavit stated. The officer also found an unused syringe that was broken and without a needle, in between the layers of his jacket, the report said. The state lab tested the scale and found traces of fentanyl, the affidavit said. A warrant was issued for his arrest on March 29.
