CONCORD, NH — David T. Ligocki, 49, of Fayette Street in Pittsfield was arrested at 6:01 p.m. on Sept. 7, 2022, on a felony theft by unauthorized taking charge. An officer was sent to Walmart on Loudon Road for a theft report. A store employee accused Ligocki of selecting two watches, putting one on his wrist and the other in his pocket, and then swiping a New England Patriots sweatshirt, an affidavit said. He then purchased some groceries and left the store, the report said. Ligocki was confronted outside of the store and brought back inside, the affidavit said. The officer eyed security footage and confirmed the incident, the report said. When asked what happened, Ligocki said, “You saw the video footage and I was being stupid,” the officer wrote. Ligocki said he had money and should have paid for the watches but “insisted” he made a mistake concerning the sweatshirt, the report said. “David proceeded to take out his wallet (to) show me the cash in it,” the officer wrote. “I observed a few hundred-dollar bills, a few 20-dollar bills, and loose cash in David’s wallet. The value of the items was around $60. Since he was previously convicted on theft charges in November 2006 and April 1995 in Rockingham County Superior Court, he was charged with a felony.
