While asking for a license and registration, the officer accused the driver, Messier, of having glossy eyes and dilated pupils, although she had no problem giving the officer the documents. The officer asked her to step out of the vehicle, spoke to her about her glossy eyes, and then asked her when was the last time she used methamphetamine, an affidavit said. Messier was accused of replying at about 8 p.m. When asked how much, she said 10 to 20 points, the report said. Another officer was requested while Messier performed field sobriety tests, with the reporting officer saying she did not appear intoxicated. After telling her she was not under arrest, the officer asked her if she was in possession of meth and accused Messier of willingly retrieving two small baggies of the drug from her purse. She was then arrested.
