My Retail-Main St. (vs. Wall Street) Investing-Advice to Son and Wife

Like him personally or not, voted for Trump personally or not, here is what the President of the United States (POTUS) Donald J. Trump said yesterday morning on Truth Social. Those invested in the markets or pondering a move should 'stay cool' because this is a great time to buy.
I frankly started this article yesterday (4.9.2024) before the markets rose sharply yesterday. We personally invested two days ago in several equities as the markets were falling. We lost on those on day one, but it all came back and then some on day two. But those investments were made with the very real possibility that the tariff/trade issue could drag on for some time.

That said, let's pivot to some thoughts from others and my take on investing. Keep in mind that this was started as markets were down sharply.
- About 162 million Americans, or 62% of U.S. adults, own stock, showing wide participation.
- The top 1% holds 50% of stocks, worth $23 trillion, highlighting wealth concentration.

Keep in mind that I didn't know the presidential annoucement was coming. So the facts and advice linked above were based on choppy waters.
My thanks to the President of the United States (POTUS) Donald J. Trump for reminding us all that you wrote the "Art of the Deal." And instead of insiders getting the benefits, thanks for letting those of us in the heartland know what was coming in advance. Big difference and a nice one.
