CONCORD, NH — The body found buried in the yard of a Concord Heights home last week has been identified as a man missing since February 2023.

Concord police said the state medical examiner’s office has confirmed the identity of the body to be Anthony Meunier, 49, at the time of his death, of Concord. Police reported him missing in a Crimeline alert in early April 2023, stating he was last seen by an associate on Loudon Road on Feb. 17, 2023. He was reported missing by his family on Feb. 20, 2023. About nine months later, a second alert was released about Meunier, with footage of him withdrawing money from an ATM at Bangor Savings Bank on Loudon Road.

The second alert also stated Meunier was involved with associates on Airport Road. The ATM is about a half a mile from where his body was found.

Detectives and a K-9 unit were seen at the home in mid-March after police were called to a report of a possible burglary and a smashed window at the home.

According to neighbors, people were sleeping in a camper parked in the backyard for a lengthy period of time. A woman with bright red hair also fled the scene on a scooter. After securing the home and contacting the new owner, a house flipper, police requested a search warrant for the residence.

Patch later learned that Angela Spataro, 32, a former resident at the home who was evicted after the foreclosure and sale to the house flipper, was arrested on a criminal trespass charge. Also arrested was Jay M. Pease, 36, of Concord, also for criminal trespass.

The home has been a magnet of issues for several years.

It was previously owned by Todd Spataro, 57, a felon who has been arrested more than a dozen times during the past two decades on various charges, including robbery, forgery, theft, felon in possession of a dangerous weapon, reckless conduct, criminal mischief, disobeying an officer, violation of probation, and several acts prohibited counts.

Todd Spataro has an active case in Merrimack County Superior Court involving three acts prohibited charges from February 2023 — after a direct indictment on April 17. An arraignment and bail hearing slated for May 2 in superior court was canceled. He’s due in court on July 2 for a dispositional conference. He also faces common nuisances, deal-possess prescription drugs, possession of a controlled drug-sale, and possession of a controlled drug charges, after an incident or investigation on Airport Road. Acts prohibited and falsifying physical evidence charges out of Hooksett against Spataro from May 2022 were nolle prossed on May 1.

It is unknown if Spataro is connected to the found body at the home. According to the Merrimack County Jail and the New Hampshire Department of Corrections, Todd Spataro is not currently in custody.

Angela Spataro was also arrested on trespassing charge a second time in March.

The home was foreclosed upon and put up for auction in September 2023, according to a newspaper legal notice from July 2023. The city’s online assessing site had the Federal National Mortgage Association owning the property in November 2023 and then selling it to MDR Rehab and Development LLC in November 2023 for $180,000. MDR is a house flipper out of Goffstown, according to the Better Business Bureau. A vehicle owned by the company was at the home on Sunday.

Fast forward to late May when police were seen back at the home gathering evidence from the yard, a bulkhead, and a basement on the south side of the house.

There was some speculation on May 31 that the activity at the home may have involved the Meunier missing person case. He was last seen two weeks after Todd Spataro’s latest indictment accusation.

An excavator was brought in, and on Saturday, a body was taken from the property and brought to the medical examiner’s office.

Sgt. Thomas Yerkes of the department’s criminal investigations division said in a Concord Regional Crimeline alert that there was no threat to the public concerning the case, and it was still an active and open investigation.
