Michael G. Kimball, born 1991, of Concord, was arrested at 6:18 a.m. on Aug. 26, on three bench warrants as well as disobeying an officer and resisting arrest or detention charges. An officer, parked in a cruiser on Hall Street near Home Avenue, saw a black BMW cross over a double yellow line into incoming traffic, according to an affidavit. The officer pulled the vehicle over and spoke to the driver, Kimball. When asked for his license, Kimball "told me he had to call his girlfriend" and "kept moving his finger on the screen of his cellphone and did not acknowledge me," the officer reported. The officer kept asking for Kimball's license and accused him of ignoring the request. He also accused Kimball of giving him a false name. When the fake name didn't check out with dispatch, the officer asked for the last four digits of his Social Security number. "I don't feel comfortable giving that to you," the officer claimed Kimball stated. Other officers responded and they decided to place Kimball under arrest. Kimball, however, "refused to turn around and place his hands behind his back," the officer alleged when they tried to take him into custody, adding that he "pulled away and stiffened his body." Eventually, Kimball was cuffed, police found him in possession of an ID, and found out he has three bench warrants. He was held without bail.
