Cynthia D. Saxon Hoffman, 56, of East Side Drive in Concord was arrested at 10:45 p.m. on Nov. 14 on simple assault and domestic violence-simple assault charges. An officer was sent to East Side Drive twice to investigate a disturbance. The first time, a man at the complex told the officer there were no issues, according to an affidavit. About an hour or so later, the officer was called back to the apartment and spoke to the man again — who was now bleeding from the nose and had a scratch on his left forehead "which appeared to be from a fingernail," the affidavit said. The man accused Saxon Hoffman of throwing an item at his face. The officer accused her of yelling at the man, telling him to shut his mouth, the affidavit stated. She was then handcuffed and later, claimed to have been hit by a flyswatter but after searching the apartment, the officer couldn't find it, the affidavit said. The man also denied the allegation. Saxon Hoffman was arrested and held without bail.
