Driver Injured In Windham Crash

A driver was medflighted to Massachusetts last week after a crash on Interstate 93 in Windham, according to state police.

Around 9:15 a.m. on April 16, troopers were sent to the southbound side of the highway for a report of a crash between a Jeep and a tractor-trailer truck. The driver of the 2024 Jeep Compass was accused of driving into the 2015 Peterbilt and swerving off to the left side of the highway. The driver then hit an embankment, Sventek said.

“The driver of the Jeep suffered serious injuries and was taken by medical helicopter to a Massachusetts hospital for treatment,” he said. “The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured.”

Windham firefighters and NH DOT employees assisted state police. Multiple lanes were closed for around three hours.

The department has refused to release the names of the truck driver or the crash victim, saying it remains an open investigation.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or may have further information was asked to contact Trooper First Class Timothy Repucci at 603-223-8836 or Timothy.R.Repucci@dos.nh.gov.
