MANCHESTER, NH — Manchester police and the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office made dozens of arrests on Thursday as part of a "joint enforcement day" around the Queen City.
According to Heather Hamel, the public information officer for the department, "Officers and deputies saturated downtown Manchester and other areas of the city looking for driving violations, various criminal offenses, as well as people with outstanding warrants." She called it, "essentially a 'no tolerance' initiative," which resulted in 136 motor vehicle stops and 32 arrests.
Officials also made 111 wanted person checks, issued 24 motor vehicle summonses, 16 city ordinance violations, and 41 summonses.

The department, according to Hamel, has been involved in the monthly operation since early 2024. She said the assistance of the sheriff's department was "invaluable," and added, "We hope these efforts send a clear message: local law enforcement is committed to addressing criminal activity in our communities."
