CNN's Jake Tapper Says Quiet Part Out Loud on Media Ties to Democrats

In yesterday's installment of the "Reality Check" series for this Patch you saw (or read) Victor Davis Hanson saying 'How the ‘Pravda-Like’ Big Mainstream Media Distorts the News.' Today it is left-leaning CNN's Jake Tapper who let the proverbial cat out of the bag while plugging his book that is supposed to help explain how much of the mainstream media supposedly 'missed' Joe Biden's congnitive decline and other issues. From the WND News Center and the Daily Caller News Foundation (DCNF) to this writer for MHProNews and this Patch is the following.

"The Remnant" host Jonah Goldberg said it seemed "indisputable" to him that the media would have investigated former President Joe Biden's cognitive decline significantly more had he been a Republican or had President Donald Trump been a more establishment Republican. Tapper acknowledged the premise was valid.

"If Donald Trump was a Bush-type, Romney-type Republican, the stakes would have been perceived as less," Goldberg said. "But like, the one group of people who believe Biden's 'existential threat to democracy' stuff about Trump was a big chunk of the D.C. press corps."

"I don't disagree with your general premise. And I think it's unfortunate that a lot of the press criticism and journalism — and most known journalism professors out there — have been saying since the Bush years that it is the responsibility of journalists to basically take up the Democratic cause — capital D, not small-d — the Democratic Party cause," Tapper responded. "And I think that's unfortunate. I don't doubt that there were a lot of people who viewed the world that way."
However, the CNN anchor also argued that there are more complex issues at play than merely partisanship.

"I think it's probably more complicated than partisanship, just because we contain multitudes — we're people too, journalists — and I think there's probably a lot of groupthink," he said. "I think there's probably a lot of intimidation."

"I think there's lots of reasons for it. I don't disagree with your general premise — that is, if this had been, you know, Joe Biden versus Mitt Romney, maybe the press corps would have been tougher," he added. "But … I also think the press corps was pretty unfair to Mitt Romney in 2012. So I don't know that premise to be correct … it's all very complicated. Which is not to let the press off the hook — or myself off the hook — but it's more complicated than just 'the press is partisan and therefore they didn't report on this.'"

Tapper also asserted on "Open To Debate" on Friday that he didn't vote for Biden or Trump and "can't stand either party" — so it wasn't partisan "bias" that softened his coverage of Biden's decline. However, he then admitted that he bought into Democrats' lies.

"What was shaping my reporting was, I think, the fact that, like, there were just a lot of people lying to us. And I should have just been more skeptical about the fact that they were lying to us," he said. "But there were just so many people on the inside, and so many Democratic legislators, and so many members of the cabinet and everything, that were just completely gaslighting the country."

Tapper has received backlash for writing "Original Sin" — a new book about Biden's decline and its cover-up — based on his own failure to probe Biden's cognitive decline while he was president. Tapper himself has acknowledged that he did not cover Biden's decline sufficiently and that he reflected on his reporting with "humility" during promotional interviews for the book.

Even though that article was published on July 8, 2020, it is still quite relevant. Why? Because it sheds light on how "the system" operates in favor of certain people and against others. Loudon did his homework and was proven correct. We simply spotlighted what he said and provided supportive evidence.

3) In between what Gemini said above and what Loudon revealed and MHProNews reported almost 5 years ago was this going into the 2024 election.

4) Well before Jake Tapper, a former Democratic staffer, began his book promotion, it was known that he has his own deep ties to the Democratic party.

Let's not think of Tapper as some kind of hero for speaking (and co-authoring) about an issue that millions saw with their own eyes years in advance.

As MHProNews reported some 5 years ago, ABC's coverage of one of the 2020 Democratic National Debates revealed that some Democrats were willing to say what so many other Democrats were not willing to say.

5) The above demonstrates several things. It is too much to say that no one on the left, or among Democrats, was unwilling to speak some parts of the truth about Biden. It isn't just individuals or organizations on the right.

6) Speaking of CNN, former award-winning 17-year CNN journalist Chris Plante this morning on Washington's D.C.'s WMAL (nationally syndicated talk radio) reminded his listeners of the principle used by Joseph Goebbels was Adolf Hitler's propaganda minister. Tell a lie a thousand times and the lie (seems) to become the truth. It is called the big lie.

As that collage above reminds thinking readers, this method works in business, it works in politics, it works in all sorts of situations. Another Nazi observed the following. This from Herman Goering. and what he said should be kept in mind with what Goebbels said. While not all people are manipulated by propaganda, it is often possible to whip up enough of a population into a frenzy to get the rest to quietly go along.

7) Abraham Lincoln put it like this over a century and a half ago.

These principles aren't new. Mark Twain, more properly known by his actual name, Samuel Clemmens, said this. Now, that was meant to be witty, but it was also insightful. Clemmens was a newspaper man, not just an author.

The solution is NOT to stop reading, viewing, or listening to the news. The solution is to seek the truth at all times. Find and follow sources that are more committed to the truth.

8) It will all the more important to find and follow the truth now than perhaps ever before. AI has the power to reveal the lies, but it also has the power to create volumes of convincing half-truths or outright lies that could flood the web and social media.

He says the new Catholic Pope Leo XIV is going to be exposing the risks of AI from a spiritual perspective.

With the spiritual and religious truths in mind, there is evidence that those who ignore those truths are more likely to suffer from mental health issues.

Be that as it may, it should cause people to consider the evidence for religious truth.
