CONCORD, NH — Laura Chapman, born 1999, of Center Barnstead received a summons at 10:42 a.m. on Sept. 14, 2021, on an operating with an expired license charge after an incident at 322 N. State St.
Carl D. Soderberg, 53, of North Main Street in Concord was arrested at 12:54 p.m. on Sept. 12 on stalking, theft by unauthorized taking-less than $1,000, and breach of bail charges. An officer at a community policing event at Market Basket on Fort Eddy Road saw Soderberg and ran a check on him. The officer knew Soderberg had a warrant for a theft charge from Sept. 9 that they were investigating. The officer also accused him of being with a woman who had a protective order against him. Soderberg was also out on bail after a previous incident and the bail conditions required him to stay away from the woman. Another officer also reported seeing the pair together, an affidavit stated. On Loudon Road, near the Everett Arena, the officer stopped Soderberg, double-checked the warrant and bail conditions, which were both active, and arrested him. He was held without bail. The theft warrant was an accusation by an employee at the Gully Hill Shell gas station, across the street from the arena, who accused Soderberg of stealing batteries from the store on July 18. An officer eyed security video at the store, confirmed the suspect to be Soderberg, and accused him of stealing two packs of AAA batteries, with a value of about $12. A warrant was issued for his arrest on July 25.
Jennifer R. Sears, 43, of Old Suncook Road in Concord, was arrested at 8:39 p.m. on Sept. 10 on stalking and violation of protective order charges. Around 6:15 p.m., an officer was sent to Friedman Court for a report of a domestic violence order violation. A woman who had an active order against Sears accused her of “continuously standing outside the apartment” directly across the hall from her apartment, by about five to six feet, an affidavit stated. The officer checked the order, which required Sears to stay at least 25 feet away from the complainant, found it was active, and spoke to the complainant about the case. The woman stated, about 15 minutes before, Sears “just walked by slowly and chuckled” at her while in the parking lot, the report said. A third woman took pictures of Sears walking by, an affidavit stated. The officer eyed the two pictures, which were a bit blurry and taken from behind a window, pointing down at the lot, but resembled Sears, the report stated. The officer spoke to Sears and questioned her about the incident. Sears, the affidavit said, “did not recall” walking by the woman in the lot and denied speaking with her. After stating he had pictures and asked again if she recalled being by the woman in the parking lot, she said, “I do not recall,” the affidavit said. A statement was taken and Sears was arrested and held without bail.
