WEST HARTFORD, CT — This week's Hidden Gem just happens to be an award winner. That's right, LobsterCraft was recently named the best food truck in Connecticut by Eat This, Not That.

The food truck is everywhere, and the hidden treasure, er gem, in the area is the brick-and-mortar restaurant at 981 Farmington Ave. in West Hartford. It's one of three locations in Connecticut (107 Greenwich Ave. in Greenwich and 1814 Post Road in Fairfield are the others) for the eatery.

In winning the award, LobsterCraft was touted as having tasty buttered lobster rolls, lobster mac-and-cheese and lobster bisque.

Eight lobster rolls are listed on the web site menu — including a LBLT and lobster tacos. There is, of course, chowder in addition to the lobster bisque. See the full menu here.

LobsterCraft was born in 2012, when Captain William Michael Harden decided to take his background as a Coast Guard Captain and licensed Lobster fisherman to the kitchen.

The food truck then turned into restaurants and the rest is history. Another restaurant is being planned for Sarasota, FL.
