The New York Times and Wall Street Journal have run similar reports.

A caller to WMAL's Chris Plante Show today who identified himself as a former U.S. military bombing expert said that other forms of bombers besides the U.S. B-2 bomber could indeed carry out this mission.

It remains to be seen what President Trump will or won't do. It may be that his statements are intended to bring Iran to the negotiating table to end the war by ending their nuclear ambitions forever.

As to "regime change..."

It is arguably in the U.S. interest if the U.S. doesn't take direct action against Iran. If negotiation, or Iranian regime change into something better (not a given, but worth the effort), or Isreali efforts can resolve this any of those are better for our national interests.
