NH Woman Returns To Shea Farm After Being Placed On Escape Status

CONCORD, NH — A Derry woman was placed on escape status last night but returned later in the evening, according to state officials. Valerie Jean Charest, 29, of Derry, was placed on escape status on Jan. 20, 2018, after leaving the Shea Farm in Concord – a female transitional housing unit – to go to work and reportedly not returning at her scheduled time. She was placed on escape status at around 8:30 p.m. but returned at around 9 p.m., according to Jeffrey Lyons, the public information officer for the New Hampshire Department of Corrections.

Charest was transported back to the New Hampshire Correctional Facility for Women in Goffstown.

Charest was sentenced to one to two years in prison by the Hillsborough County Superior Court-South for theft by unauthorized taking. She was arrested in Bedford in May 2016, on a forgery charge. Charest was admitted last March and was eligible for parole in February. An escape charge can add three to seven more years to a prison sentence, according to Lyons.

Tony Carr, 52, of Berwick, ME, was arrested at 1:02 a.m. on Jan. 6, 2018, for DUI on Route 16 North near the Exit 16 off-ramp in Rochester.

Tony Williams, 54, of Rochester, was arrested at 11:22 p.m. on Jan. 5, 2018, for false report to law enforcement. He was arrested on Route 16 North near the Exit 16 off-ramp in Rochester.

Maureen Lamb Gullifa, 51, of Raymond, was arrested at 9:42 p.m. on Jan. 2, 2018, for DUI and DUI – second or third on Route 101 West in Epping.

Dianne Jenner, 47, of East Wakefield, was arrested at 11:30 p.m. on Dec. 31, 2017, for aggravated DUI – collision with serious injury and negligent homicide on Route 125 in Milton.

John Hopkins, 68, of Kittery, ME, was arrested at 10:30 p.m. on Dec. 31, 2017, for DUI and reckless operation on I-95 North in Portsmouth.

Thomas Neel, 28, of Harrisville, was arrested at 1:15 a.m. on Dec. 30, 2017, for DUI and DUI – adult greater than 0.08.
