Even AI Admits Artificial Intelligence Poses ‘Dystopian’ Risk to Humanity; Truth-Faith-Reason Needed in U.S.

Independence Day is a Reminder that Freedom Isn't Free and There are Roles that Reason, Faith, and History All Play in Solving Modern Woes

On 5.31.2025 MHProNews published an article that used artificial intelligence (AI) to demonstrate that AI has obviously risks. Just because this writer has used AI for over 2 years on a near daily basis doesn’t mean that I think it is without risks. MHProNews, has carefully and periodically reminded readers of the promise and problems that AI represents and did so years before it became publicly available with platforms like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot, Grok, etc.

In a new article published today on MHProNews that is NOT focused on, but does touch upon the battle for American Independence celebrated on July 4 every year, readers are reminded that freedom isn't free.

There are any number of problems our world faces that if one thinks about it carefully, one begins to realize that 'science' alone can't solve. Law, science, history, or ethics devoid of religious belief was rejected by many of the founders of what became the American Republic. Freedom isn't free.

Freedom hasn't been free since the day when Adam and Eve were shown the exit from the Biblical Garden of Eden.

The founders did not share precisely the same religious beliefs. Thomas Jefferson, for example, was a deist. As Gemini put it: "Thomas Jefferson was a deist, as he believed in one God, divine providence, and the divine moral law, but did not believe in supernatural revelation." Nevertheless, Jefferson respected Jesus and collected what he called the sayings of Jesus.

This writer proposes that it is easier to believe in a Divine Creator of all than it is to believe that everything magically evolved from a "big bang." Indeed, science has ironically demonstrated the wisdom of the decades-old mantra once asked in elementary schoolyards. Which came first, the chicken or the egg? There is nothing wrong with the big bang theory, so long as someone grasps that God was the cause of the 'bang' and that the Creator guided the outcome in some mysterious way. Order doesn't normally come from explosions, for example. Yet, we see order in the universe.

Wherever you or a loved one may be on questions of faith, which church or religion is true, or which ones are only partially true (or even false), it should be recognized that truth matters. Reality matters. Evidence matters. Apply common sense or what some call "logic" or "reason" matters. The fictional Star Trek series used "logical" Vulcans as a useful and entertaining creative device to convey the needs, and challenges, that arise from the use of reason.

We must also recognize that confimation bias and habits influence our thinking and beliefs. We humans are born at a certain place, in a certain time. Those born in India have a different experience than someone born in Latin America, someone born in China, someone born in England or France, or someone born in North Korea or the United States. If we are to believe that a first cause for the universe - God - who is said to knows all, loves all, and sees all, surely such a Creator anticipated those realities. That doesn't mean that all religions are the same or equally true. They are obviously different. So, again, discernment is necessary.

And discernment requires objectivity. Ironically, artificial intelligence (AI) can be useful in that discernment process. We'll explore that and more in a planned follow up in the near future. Stay tuned.
