Alexander Bryce Cassell, 30, of Broadlawn Park in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, was arrested at 1:16 a.m. on May 3 on a felony possession of controlled drug charge. An officer patrolling South Main Street near the city line with Bow was in the Dunkin’ Donuts parking lot when they noticed a Kia Optima sedan with its lights on and the engine running for what seemed like “quite some time” in the 7-Eleven parking lot across the street. The officer went over to the vehicle and ran the Massachusetts registration. When the officer approached the vehicle, he accused Cassell of trying to conceal something in the pocket of his shorts. He was “shaking,” the officer wrote. The officer asked Cassell what he was hiding, and he said it was tinfoil and pulled it out of his pocket, the report said. The foil was crumpled up, the officer wrote. When asked if he used it to smoke heroin, Cassell confirmed it was, the affidavit said. When asked if he had heroin, Cassell “let out a big sigh and stated, ‘Yes,’” and pulled out a plastic baggie of the drug from his pocket, the report said. He was then arrested. Cassell was scheduled to be arraigned in Merrimack County Superior Court on June 1 but the hearing was canceled.
