Robert William Whiteside, 46, of Old Suncook Road in Concord was arrested at 1:16 a.m. on June 4 on a felony operating after certification as a habitual offender and disobeying an officer charges. An officer in the area of the Speedway gas station saw a 2011 Nissan Rogue exiting the station with an expired inspection sticker. The vehicle was pulled over on the Interstate 93 north onramp at Exit 13. The driver, later identified as Whiteside, was accused of saying he did not have his license, gave a false name, birth date, and the last four of his Social Security number. “I also observed the operator's hands to be shaking as he appeared nervous,” the officer wrote in a report. The name, dispatch said, did not come back on file. Whiteside was asked to step out of the vehicle, agreed to a pat down, was questioned about the inconsistencies, and admitted his real name, an affidavit stated. Checks on his real name found he was a habitual offender, had previously been convicted on felony habitual offender counts in Merrimack County in March 2016 and Rockingham County in November 2012, had active warrants, and was arrested.

Maria A. Moriarty, 40, a homeless woman now located in Concord, was arrested at 9:18 p.m. on April 28 on felony possession of a controlled drug, driving under the influence, and transport drugs in a motor vehicle charges. An officer was sent to Highland Street for a report of a suspicious vehicle — a person, inside a Nissan Sentra, for around 90 minutes, according to a complainant. The officer arrived and spoke to the driver, Moriarty, who was accused of being “seemingly panicked” when the officer approached the car. She was accused of “actively moving items around in her car and in her lap,” including a green fanny pack which the officer said might be “a drug user’s work kit,” the report said. During the conversation with Moriarty, she leaned forward in her seat and the officer saw a small clear plastic baggie tucked underneath her backside, believed to be drugs, an affidavit stated. Backup was requested and Moriarty was requested to exit the car. The officer accused her of being “slow to respond, both verbally and physically,” and seemed “reluctant to exit the vehicle, at first, but eventually did so.” The affidavit said she did not seem coherent and kept asking for someone from The Friendly Kitchen. During field sobriety tests, Moriarty was accused of having difficulty keeping her eyes open and delayed reactions. Later, she was arrested. The officer said the drug she was sitting on, “which she seemingly tried to conceal,” appeared to be fentanyl. After being processed, she was taken to the hospital and then the county jail.
