Hidden Gems Of Hartford And Tolland Counties

FARMINGTON, CT — The latest Hidden Gem sits back from a winding road in a vintage setting that takes us back in time.

And so do the offerings inside ANTIQ'S - the only antique shop located in Farmington.

The shop was established in 1990 with the goal of, "continually delighting our customers by offering a large selection of fresh-to-market antiques and decorations for the home and garden," owner Jean McCarthy said. The shop is designed to attract not only the antiques dealer, but the interior designer or "someone who simply enjoys browsing and admiring fine things," McCarthy said.

The shop has an eclectic feel with with an emphasis on the unique, like early American and Continental furniture and accessories, country antiques in original paint, garden items, "architectural elements and textiles" and "decorative furniture and objects."

"We sell what we like ... we enjoy what we do ... and it shows," McCathy said.

ANTIQ'S LLC is located on Hyde Road in Farmington, at the corner of New Britain Avenue.
