CONCORD, NH — Bradley A. Bowles, born 1996, of Concord was arrested at 12:41 p.m. on Feb. 7, 2022, on simple assault, domestic violence-simple assault, false imprisonment, and domestic violence-false imprisonment charges after an incident on Stone Street.

Larz Raymond Menard, 22, of Concord was arrested at 2:43 p.m. on Feb. 6 on theft by unauthorized taking, a felony due to two prior convictions, and two felony possession of a controlled drug-subsequent charges. He was arrested after an incident at Jon Ann Fabrics on Storrs Street. Menard was arraigned on Feb. 7 and Feb. 8 and has a dispositional conference on April 12.

Michael John Fortier, 36, of Fisherville Road in Concord was arrested at 9:41 a.m. on Jan. 19 on forgery and theft by deception-two prior theft convictions, both felonies. Officers were sent to the Citizens Bank of New Hampshire at the Capital Plaza for a report of a man attempting to cash a fraudulent check. The man attempting to cash the check was Fortier and he told the officers, “This is crazy” and he had no idea the check was fake, according to an affidavit. Fortier said he had been working for the business for three years and received his checks by mail, the officer wrote, and never had an issue before. The check was made out to him for around $528, issued by a lighting company, and dated Dec. 27, 2021. The bank employee told police she had spoken to the business owner a week before and the owner claimed there was a fraud on his business account. The owner “made it clear” he did not issue the checks and also did not want to know who was cashing them, the report stated. Another check was cashed on Jan. 7, she noted. The only info that was accurate on the check was the routing number, the report said. Fortier told the officers he did subcontract work involving tile for the company, admitted to cashing the previous check, admitted to attempting to cash the current check, and he was arrested on a forgery charge, the affidavit said. The officer spoke to the owner of the company who denied Fortier ever worked for him. He also said there was no 1099 tax form on file for him. The owner of the company said actual checks had a more complete name on them — a name Fortier’s checks did not have, the officer wrote. The officer noted Fortier’s criminal history included two prior convictions of receiving stolen property charges from 2016 which led to the addition of a felony theft by deception charge.
