It's Election Day In Fairfield: Meet The Candidates

Here's everything you need to know concerning the Fairfield elections, including the candidates, polling places, voting hours and more.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Fairfield residents will head to the polls tomorrow to cast votes for the municipal election. Seats on the Board of Finance, Representative Town Meeting, and Town Plan and Zoning Commission are up for grabs, among others, although the Board of Education is not contested this year.

Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Nov. 2. Voters who are in line before 8 p.m. will be able to vote even after the deadline passes. You can find your poll location at the Secretary of the State website by inputting your information.

Board of Finance

In Fairfield, Board of Finance incumbents James Walsh, a Republican, and Sheila Marmion, a Democrat, are hoping to retain their seats in a race that also includes Democrat Craig Curley and Republican Thomas Collimore. In a separate race for a two-year vacancy, Bill Llewellyn, a Republican, and Kevin Starke, a Democrat, both hope to secure the spot.


Board of Education

The Board of Education is a fairly low-key race this year, with four uncontested incumbents —Republicans Nick Aysseh and Jeffrey Peterson and Democrats Jennifer Jacobsen and Carol Guernsey — all but gauranteed to keep their seats.

Town Plan and Zoning Commission

The Town Plan and Zoning Commission, however, is another story. Steven Levy, a Democrat, and Thomas Noonan, a Republican, are hoping to hold on to their spots on the body, in a race that also includes Neal Fink, a Democrat, and Daniel Ford, a Republican. Additionally, a two-year term is being sought by Democrat Marc Andre and Republican Alexis Harrison, while Democrats Sarah Keitt and Fredda Gordon and Republicans Steven Leahy and Robert Valorie are hoping to snag seats as alternates on the commission.


Representative Town Meeting

And then there's the Representative Town Meeting, which is currently divided evenly between 20 Democrats and 20 Republicans, although the balance of power may well shift come Tuesday. All 75 town meeting candidates are listed below.
