Hidden Gems Of Hartford And Tolland Counties

The latest Hidden Gem has hidden gems inside it.

EAST WINDSOR, CT — The latest trek to a Hidden Gem takes us to a circa 1850 columned building close to the banks of the Connecticut River in north central Connecticut that offers items from several eras and genres.

Welcome to The Vintage Shops in the historic Warehouse Point district of East Windsor. It's tucked into a nook at 42 Bridge St. near, well, a bridge than spans the river.

"I hear all the time that people didn’t know we were 'there' when they passed by," said Becky Bossi of Treasures of the Heart. "We have been 'there' for about 15 years and would like more people discovering us."

The Vintage Shops is a business space with a collection of eight varied vendors (located next door to the Maine Fish Market restaurant near the Route 140 bridge) that are open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day except Monday and major holidays.

Inside the Vintage Shops, visitors will find collectible and antique items including clocks, coins, furniture, holiday items, shabby decor, vintage vinyl music, militaria and repurposed items, among others. The atmosphere of the shops lends itself to leisurely looking and shopping over two floors of items.

It's a Hidden Gem with hidden gems.

The building was used for many things throughout the years, including a boarding house and a bar.Now it's the Vintage Shops.
