Blake C. Erickson, 45, a homeless man now located in Concord, was arrested at 9:23 a.m. on July 9 on theft by unauthorized taking-less than $1,000 and two criminal trespass charges after two incidents at CVS at 4 Hall St. According to one affidavit, on June 6, an employee at the store called police to report a man who “frequently steals items,” knew him to be Erickson, and had just stolen two Fanta drinks, valued at $5. Erickson was accused of saying to an employee, “Everything is free,” while walking out. An officer confirmed from security footage it was Erickson, the report said. The officer went to the homeless camp below the Water Street bridge, found Erickson in a tent, and spoke to him about the theft, the report stated. When asked why he was stealing from CVS, Erickson told the officer, “Everything in that store is free” and it was all his, the officer wrote. A warrant was issued for his arrest on July 7. The second incident occurred on June 26 after an employee reported Erickson in the store again in violation of a trespass order. An officer arrived at the store but could not find Erickson. The employee was interviewed and the officer eyed security video but could not determine if Erickson had stolen anything. The report said the officer confirmed he was inside the store violating the no-trespass order. A warrant was issued for his arrest on June 29.
